I had an accident and I was not at fault. Had no insurance at the time. In order to get paid the damages I have to find the insurance company that was written in the police report and send them the damage report. I can't for the life of me find this company. The truck was a industrial car, if that helps

There was nothing posted through his door and at first thought the car had been stolen. I have checked the DVLA website and it states that the car should be clamped for 24 hours first, which it wasn't. It also says that he should be given notice, which he wasn't. All their offices are now closed till monday so he's stuck without a car until then. The question is does anyone know the proceedures for this and can they actually just go straight to the seizure stage. He knows he did wrong by not having the tax!!

I've just passed my test and in their wisdom the dvla have sent it to my old address,
It will take 10 days for an investigation so they can find out why they ignored the change of address form and get my new license out.
I'm getting my car on Sunday,
But can I insure it without my license present ???

Which states insurance laws are in affect when processing the claim? The state where the accident occured or the state where the vehicle is registered? The insurance company is denying my claim because the state the accident happened in says they do not have to pay. However, in the state the vehicle is registered the law says they are responsible for the claim. Anyone have a clue?

I live in Tennessee and have the following problems; I have been convicted of 3 DUI's - all in Tennessee - my first was in October of 2004, my second was in November of 2004, and my third was in July of 2005. The judge reduced my 2nd to a 1st and I am currently on probation for DUI 2. I am elligible to get my license back in April of 2008, however by order of the judge I have to have an intoxilizer installed in my car for 6 months. my first question is how much that will cost, and my 2nd question is with that many DUI convictions will i even be able to get my license back in 2008 and how many points does that put on my license? By the way I have been sober 9 months and I understand there is no excuse for my reckless behavior. I'm just having a little trouble understanding if they will reinstate my driving priveliges in 4/08 or if I will have to wait longer because of the point system?

I am a citizen of Azerbaijan, working in Canada with 1 year contract. According to Canadian regulations, you can drive in Canada for 1 year, if you have an international driving permit. My license does not seem to be international. My questions are: Is there any difference between International driving license and driving permit? If I get my license tranlated through IDL web services in USA, will it be acceptible in Canada? Thanks in advance

I was on the way home tonight and was heading down a icy hill. Just as I headed down the decline is when I saw a vehicle with it's lights on facing me in my lane less than 200 ft away. I attempted to stop and of course I slid and kept sliding. My car did a complete 180 degree turn and my rear end smacked there front passenger side.

The problem is that my insurance is expired. The opposite driver has insurance. Truthfully, we should be both in the fault. The opposite driver was very friendly and I told her my insurance card is expired that I believe I have an updated one at home. We already exchanged info. My concern is, how can I resolve this issue with minimal cost? Will her insurance company be sharks and try and make me eat the cost without covering mine? Should I get an attorney or should I call the opposite driver, and come to an agreement? If so, what sort of agreement should I offer?
