No, you can't even junk a car without the title. Get a duplicate title from the DMV.

Afraid not. But it's fairly easy to get a duplicate title, and then you can. I'm assuming you're asking about a lost title. If you bought the car from someone and never got a title, that's a whole different story. In that case you would have to go back to the seller and demand a title.

If you mean "trade in" your car for a new one, yes you can do it without the title. You just need the registration. I traded my car in last march and all I had was the registration and they took it. But I owned the car, there wasn't any finance payoff to worry about.
As far as swaping cars with someone on the streets, I don't know about that.

for salvage use only............go to ur local tag agencies and file for a lost title, they can help you. salvage use only is for when teh car/truck won't be leaving the persons property..........but if the car is good, i'd file for the lost title.
