I bought insurance for the year in one state but just moved to a different state where I will have to register my car again and get a new license plate. If I already paid for the year, do I have to get new insurance? If I do have to get new insurance, can I get my money back because I didn't drive for the whole year while under my insurance company's policy?

Hello, I've been with elephant.co.uk for two years and have never made a claim (2 years NBC).

On 01/01/2007 my car was stolen, found but has been written off by my insurance company; obviously I've made a claim, being fully comprehensive.

The problem I'm finding, is that I'm 24 and looking to buy a Mitsubishi Fto GPX 1998cc, now, if I have my two years NBC then although expensive, it's feasable for me to insure -- however if I have lost my NBC due to this theft claim, then the insurance quotes I'm getting for this vehicle are just stupid.

I've read into the website FAQs on elephant.co.uk, and it states the following:

"In the event of a theft claim your no claims discount will be reduced, as it is unlikely we will locate the culprits and recover the costs."

What does this mean, reduced? Am I likely to loose all of my two years NCB or will they just reduce it to a year, or similar?

Thank you.

I am buying a car from a guy. He owes $5K to his bank and I am paying $6K. Bank has title. In CA.
What do I need to make sure I get the title?

Is a bill of sale enough? How do I make sure the guy pays the remainder of the loan to the bank and I get title?

Please specify forms and what not if you know them.

Thanks in adavance.

I had an accident last saturday. The driver of the other car and I exchanged information and the police didnt come so we have no police report. He reported the accident with his insurance and I didnt with mine. We decided that we're going to wait til tomorrow (a week after the insurance), if I can just pay the damage with money out of my pocket. But now, it seems like he's charging too much so I decided to go through with the insurance companies. Should I report the incident to my insurance company? or should I just wait for them to contact me when the other driver's insurance company reports the accident to them.

Im thinking that I will just wait for my insurance company to contact me because they will know about the accident anyways. Will there be any legal issues if I dont report? What do you think?

It is a well known fact that teen girls are becoming more agressive in driving habits and accident statistics are up so why do they not share the same insurance rates?

Actually, it is my sister's car and she is letting me use it for a while. I know nothing about cars and ownership. So, let's say the police pull me over. Will they ask to see both the insurance and registration (title)? I know the car is insured but I could not find a title in it. The car is being leased, but shouldn't there still be some kind of paper saying its being leased?

A few months ago me and my buds were at a club and one of my ex's saw my Chevy truck in the parking lot. She got out and smashed out the headights with a jack handle and drove off. Some people saw her do it and told me. We didnt know what to do when my cousin thought maybe we could get some kind of bulbs at a walmart that was only about a mile down the road. It was really late but they are always open. We couldnt find anything like what is on my truck but Sonny had a idea. We bought two big flashlights and some duct tape and we taped them on the fenders and turned them on and we thought it worked pretty good. When a cop pulled me over on the way home I had to tell him the whole story. I thought i was going to jail (again) but he laughed so hard he let us go. I didnt fix them cause they cost over $500.00! Last month i was trying to get some more insurance (another story) and the insurance lady said they wont insure with flaslights. What can I do? Does anybody have troubles like I do?

My parents had a old car, but they don't want it now.
So I have to called the tow company to tow the car away(...I have to do anything....)

* NOTE:no car accident had occured , my parents just didn't want it.
anyway, the old car went to the dumper.

I gave the Title to the tow company.

I returned the tag (the car plate) to the tag agent.

I called the insurance company to cancel this car from my current insurance policy.

what else that I have missed to do ? (<--this is my first time to do this thing. )

Do I have to send/ mail something to the government (what department???) to let them know that this car is no longer belonging to my parents?

Please give me the instruction. I want someone to help me about this.
