i was involved in an auto accident a little over a year ago. a lady hit me as i was exiting the frwy. the police took a statement for both of us. i explained in details what happend. her only comment was that she didnt know what happend. i had somebody in the car with me. all of us walked away with no injuries. the only damage to my car was a dent near the front driver wheel well and my door was dented just a tad. no damage else where. the lady that hit me was ticketed in the accident for failure to maintain her lane. she never showed for court. i was ticketed for no insurance. i was served papers today saying i being sued by the passenger, sueing for severe bodily injury. where that came from, i dont know. he is also sueing the lady that caused the accident. the atty. he is using contactedme the first week of the accident wanted me to start phys. therapy. i was not injured, so i did not pursue the case. what do i do, i have never been in this kind of situation before???

I bought a used car in June 2006 and the insurance expired at the end of December. I didnt know it b/c i didnt get any notification about it. I didnt use the car ever since b/c i went on vacation for winter break. When I came back 3 days i found the car was flooded and I towed it to a mechanic and sold it to him for $200. I returned the plate to DMV today but i forgot to ask about the insurance. I mean, will it affect me the next time i buy a car or will my license got suspended because of the lapse? What should I do?

Thanks a lot!

Blame is sometimes set by INS adjustures. They are friendly and work togrther well. with out investagating. It is really a mess when both parties have same ins. Co. My point is that adjusting fault they can raise rates on both drivers. Is this a common practice or do the ins. Co own the MO legislature?

I had for some time plates from one state insurance from other state. The state which had plates is not accepting insurance from other state as a proof. This made licence to get suspended, any advice.

Hi, my car was hit at the end of last year. Since the driver was hiding until this week, I finally got check from her insurace company now. However, they didn't pay for a rent-a-car cost which I need while my car is being fixed. I will call them tomorrow but wanted to know what the exact procedure I should take in case they say they won't pay me the cost? I should be knowledgeable so that they can't manipulate me. I am a foreigner and the chances are they assume I don't know anything. Thanks for your help.

My 100,000 mile auto warranty insurance will expire in 25,000 miles. I purchased it when the manfg. warranty expired. Mfg. does not offer any auto warranty on 2002 cars above 100,000. Is it possible to purchase something over 100,000. Mfg. now offers 2006-2007 cars, warranty to 125,000 mi. Thanks

I live in Minnesota and some young girl in front of me took a right turn at the stop light...well it was clear so I took a right also...she got spooked and slammed on her brakes after she made the turn and came to a complete stop. So I ran into her going under 5 miles per hour. She had a very minor scuff that could easily be buffed out....she agreed there was really no damage...but now I get a call 3 weeks later from her husband saying that it's a leased car and they need to have it fixed and it's $450. They said it would make more sense for me just to write them a check.

Am I 100% liable for this, even though the silly little girl came to a complete stop in the middle of the road? If so, should I pay cash or have them go through my insurance?

Thanks! ~Drew

I live in KY and I'm 20 years old, my insuracne is nearly $300. a month. My question is, how old are you and how much do you pay monthly for your auto insurance?I feel like $300 a month is pretty high, its more than my car payment and I have a brand new car!?
thanks in advance:)

My car was in an accident a couple months ago and is now worth $6,000 less than what I owe on it. I don't know how to go about having Gap cover the difference if I am selling it privately rather than trading it in at the dealer.

I live in VA. and I am planning on getting my learner's permit soon. I was wondering if anyone could tell me if you have to pay extra for insurance if you have a learner's permit?

Just wondering because if I do, I need to get a job so I can pay it or else my grandmother will flip out.

Thanks!

It really was a small tap on the bumper of the toyota corolla in front of me.... the only thing was that I was driving a hummer and
she claims I put a 6"x8" approx. hole on the left side of the bumper
even though the tap was on her right.... I called the police but she had to go and we exchanged numbers to get the info later...this happened this morning.....I would not want my insurance to go up for a minor thing but at the same time I hate the fact that she is basically telling a lie so she can get money either from me or the insurance. any advise would be helpful. Thanks...

I live in texas and a year ago, rear ended a vehicle in a low speed accident. They made a claim, but I did not. My insurance rates did not go up.

Today, I was hit from behind on the ice. The vehicle, a jeep, drove away as I was trying to gain traction and right my vehicle to avoid another collision. I did not get their license plate.

I have no choice but to file with my insurance company. Will my auto rates go up? And would it have been any different if my vehicle had been hit in a parking lot without my being there?

I'm buying a car in NJ this weekend, and I need to drive it home.
My licensing service in PA told me I need an in-transit plate from jersey.

Do I need to get this from a DMV, or do private dealers do this for a fee?
Or is there a licensing service like in Pa?

I would like to avoid going to a DMV if possible.
Thanks for the help.

The truck was in Chicago and i flew in and drove it home to North Carolina. My DMV is telling me that the title can't have both a lien that has been released and a repossession attached. I called BANKONE [which is now Chase Bank] to ask for a letter stating that the lien was released in error, but they refuse to help me. I have contacted the guy[dealer in Joliet, Illinois] and he says the title work is 125% correct and that my DMV person is an idiot. I have to get this truck titled and registered to be able to drive it in my state and i'm getting no help from either source. If anyone knows of what i can do to get this straightened out, so i can drive the truck legally and have it titled and registered in my name, please HELP ME!!!!

I rear-ended someone... will my insurance find out even if i don't notify them of the accident? The person I rear-ended agreed to settle everything without notifying my insurance provider, but their car insurance (AAA) knows about this and is taking care of the claim for them. They told their AAA agent not to let my insurance know about the collision and their agent agreed not to tell my insurance company about the accident. How likely is it that my insurance still finds out about this and raises my rates, even after i pay for all the damages out of my own pocket? I'm worried I'm going to be paying for all the repairs (about $1700) and still have to pay higher rates for my insurance? I'm 18 and just got my license so my rates would be raised by a lot.. I'm worried. Help please, Thanks.
