My buddy is going to take a driver's license test this Thursday but the car he's going to use doesn't have a license plate number because it's a brand new car. Does this matter? We live in California.

if spousal transfer of vehicle takes place, and plates are transfered with the car, in case of accident are they both responsible or how far one's responsibility goes in legal terms? thx-

Okay My parents just Got this Car for me. It is Brand new Not payed off... It is Financed and They said before I can drive it I have to pay the insurance. Anybody know of any cheap insurance companys.... I heard of something called an independent agent or something what should I do??? Help Help

I was on a 2 lane street in a wooded area at night and it dodged out. I didn't run it over, but I hit it. Not even half of it's body made contact with my car, but it still did some damage. The passenger side headllights are bashed out, theres a dent on the right side of the car & my hood is bent up a little. It was fine to drive last night (just had to use my high beams), but this morning, it jerked and shook as I turned it on & changed gears. I called my insurance place last night & left a message since it was after hours. They returned the call this morning & gave me the # to the place that handles claims for my state (VA). I'd like to know if you've experienced hitting a deer before and what are some tips and helpful advice that I can use? Just for the record, I have full coverage with a $250 deductable, but I'm not sure if there are any odd stipulations since I hit an animal & not another vehicle. What would it take for them to "total" my car out?

the problem is i was paid value of car on sept 20th 06 which was 1100 dollars less than it was worth on nov 05.shouldnt i have been paid the value of it on the claim date. nov 2005?

I need to know if a repo agent has the authority to threaten me with the police and at a federal level by claiming the vehicle is stolen ( when it is not in fact ) to get me to return the car. I have researched extensively online about it and there are alot of laws but one says you may not threaten a debtor with police or act as a police agent when you are not. I know that I read this but I was thinking of suing the company who employs this repo agent because he caused me to lose my job today and the people who I took the car to return it to told me he could not have me arrested and could not claim the vehicle was stolen.

I got a no insurance ticket about 2-2 1/2 years ago along with a no registration ticket. The car wasn't mine and I didn't know that the car had no insurance/registration.
I live in Illinois by Chicago, so it may be different.
I just found out that they suspended my license about 3-4 months ago, because I never went to court for the tickets.

What i mean is where are our rights as citizens. If they can do it why cant we? How can we fight this unfair discrimitation against BC Drivers? Lets all drive to Alberta, get a mail box address and insure our cars there and drive back. U see how ICBC will be nice to us in no time.

when I was hired by my employer a couple of years ago , I was hired with their knowledge that I did not have a car or a driver's licenses, I just received a message on my voice mail from my supervisor that our company will no longer be allowed to hire anybody without a drivers licenses, vehicle or proof of insurance, and in the near future anyone working for our company without a licenses, car and insurance will no longer be able to work for them, she just wanted to inform us that she is unsure exactly when this is going to take place, but it is comming.

I am getting the runaround from Safeauto Ins, they summited me a settlement which I believe was fair. I got all documents signed and returned, it's been about 2 weeks and I've called each day to see if they have recieved my paperwork. Which they haven't. So today I called the supervisor who told me that they we're having mailing problems??? Ya right. Is there any thing I can do to make them speed up the process. And btw it takes a day or two for them to recieve mail from where I live!!!

I bumped a car backing out of a parking spot well over a year ago, my car was undamaged but the other car had a scrape about 2"x2" on the paint job. I felt extremely guilty, I told the woman who owned the car I was really sorry and accepted full blame. She said just let it go and we parted ways. A month later I found out she reported it the police a week after the incident because my sister happened to see her one day and the lady said that the parking lot video surveillance cams caught it and it was reported and her auto insurance company wants my auto insurance information now. She gave my sister the name of the cop who filed the report. When I talked to the cop, he said she reported it herself. Regardless, I mailed her my auto and contact information. The whole thing happened 18 months ago. She never contacted me again and as far as I know, my own auto ins. company was never contacted. I'm just wondering if she changes her mind, again, can she still file a claim?

there wasnt much damage, it was mostly in the car i was in, to the bumper. we traded info, and i'm not sure if he'll call the owner's insurance, even tho he said he'd call me first if there was damage so we could arrange something. so i am waiting for his call....

everywhere i've read online has said that most people would rather not deal with insurance companies and instead settle directly with the other person involved.

also, if he does/did call the insurance, could he still make a claim even if the person insured was not driving?

has anyone been through this or anything similar? any advice would help! thanks!
