I was involved in a fender bender a few months ago in Virginia (though I am licensed in Massachusetts). It was stop-and-go traffic, and I was following too closely (since for one reason or another, I didn't stop in time). I must have been going 5-7 mile/hour at impact and the damage to both cars was very minimal (the assessing policeman marked it down as non-reportable--below $1000 dollars). It was completely my fault, and I was the first to admit that, though very recently the family made a claim for personal injury (about a month after the fact). A month after the claim, they came up with a number: $75,000 ($35,000 more than my limits). I am a college student with no exhaustible income, and though I don't want to instantly point to them as liars, I think it is ridiculous that they were hurt as much as they claim. A second thing to note is after the accident, I asked them how they were and, suspiciously, they remarked, "We're fine, though I can tell we will feel it in the morning.

While at work my veh. was broken into while parked on company property, damage was done to the outside as well as my stereo being RIPPED out of the dash. I have not been allowed to park my vehicle in a more lit(work at night) area by the "Risk Manager", eventhough I informed him of my concerns when we began working in this area, over 6 months ago. Do I have a leg to stand on with trying to get my company to pay for the damages? THere are NO signs nor entries in the Policy Manuel stating that they are NOT responsible for damages incurred while on their property. Pleae help in Texas.

I got hit in an accident and I was allocated no liability. My car is in the body shop right now. However, the insurance company of the guy who hit me sent an estimate to the body shop and requested a NON-FACTORY bumper for my car. My car was 100% factory-made before the accident. The insurance company argued that they only owe me whatever to put my car back to the same functionality before the accident, but not the same quality.

That absolutely sounds unacceptable to me. Per my understanding, they should have no right choosing the components of my car. I should be the one who choose it. The thing is that I am not requesting anything extra than what my car was before the accident. Is there anyone know what the California State Law says about this. Thank you very much!!!

Although the accident was my sons fault, the other driver did not posess a drivers license. The cop said no one was going to be cited, as my son would have most likely receieved a ticket for violation of right of way..will affect the insurance payment?

In the state of Florida, I've heard that car insurances have to add in the fees associated with purchasing a new car (as part of a property damage settlement). Is this true?

I gave my boyfriend one of my cars when I moved out of state and he has not goten it registered in his name so I have to carry insurance on it still and am liable for property tax owed etc. I need to know of a way to get it out of my name. South Carolina DMV says there is no way except to have him pay the tax and fees and get it registered. I can't count on him to take care of this matter and need to get it changed ASAP!

He was living with me then, so i gave him my 2nd car and told him the insurance will soon expire in 2 months, he should renew it and be paying for the insurance since he's working. Unknowingly to me, he didn't renew it and he ran a red light and had accident with it. Now, the insurance company of the other party wants money for damages, about $13000.00. Who's responsible to pay this money? my friend or me? he has a valid driving license.

I am a newly licensed driver and have no car insurance. What I was wondering is has anyone had progressive? If so how were they when needed. Iif not with them now why and would you go back? I got a quote from them and they were quite a bit lower than state farm and even esurance.com. Also if you have had or do have insurance from esurance.com how are they when needed. And if not with them now why and would you go back?

HUSBAND...and he got a second DUI. He is at the end of his non-driving sentence and wants to get a car, give me the money to buy it, have it in my name and put it on my insurance. He will pay all the costs. He wants me to put him on my insurance so he doesn't have to get the blowy-inny thing and blow into every time he drives because he doesn't want our son to see him do it. Our son doesn't know about the DUI. Should I do this for him so my son doesn't have to be exposed to that or is it illegal?? I don't want to get in trouble...

The other day someone broke into a family members car while we were eating at a restaurant. My purse, with my cell phone, and a $700 ring were in it(I had come from work and put the ring in my bag because I work with kids and the ring would get so dirty, I forgot to put it back on). The purse was hidden underneath the seat so its not like I was asking for this. Basically, with the insurance the family member has, she has to pay a $1000 deductible first-which she made clear since it wasnt her stuff (they took a few non-expensive things from her) she was not going to pay it, therefore I was screwed over. She said my only hope would be to get my bf to contact the credit card company of the card he used to buy my ring. What is that supposed to mean? If the credit card company would reinburse it wouldnt everyone do that, like make up stuff? Please try and help me understand this...I am so hurt over the loss of this ring :(
