The penalty for driving without insurance varies from state to state. In some states, your vehicle tag can be seized and your car impounded. In addition, some states impose heavy fines for those who drive without auto insurance. Limited sates fine a fee of $150 to $500 for driving without insurance.

The consequences can be far more serious if you are involved in an accident and do not have insurance. You may have to comply with the financial responsibility laws (SR22, SR22s, SR16) including having to pay for any injuries or damages out of your own pocket.

CarInsurance.com understands that state complacency allows for states to not uphold the laws of the land. As you will understand from our comments, the states don't consider this offense as a serious offense.

For every dollar you pay in insurance premium a portion goes towards those states that aren't aggressive toward uninsured drivers.

Just cuff me and put me in jail because I'm a moron with no respect for the law or consideration of other people I may have caused harm to! I'm impressed with the spelling on here especially with a "check spelling"tab available! HMMMM?

There is absolutely no excuse for driving without insurance. Period. I would not be so irresponsible to do it, and I sincerely hope that an officer and the state would penalize that person to the fullest extent.

Tyson your math is fantastic.

one meal @ $4.00 x 5meals x 30 days = $600.00 month
-or-
one meal @ $4.00 x 5meals x 4 weeks= $80.00 a month, not enough to cover insurance.
You did it for 5 meals a day, not 5 meals a week.

Vampira, don't stop eating your precious McD's. Get a better job and then get insurance.

if you have Incs, but no proof... tell him you have some, but you dont have a copy with you, ask him if you can get out of a *fine* by showing it to anyone imperticular tomorrow morning. he will probably just say, "just get it in the car" and leave it at that.

If you dont have incs at all, i hope you hit something really had, and distroy your car...
