I am a newly licensed driver and have no car insurance. What I was wondering is has anyone had progressive? If so how were they when needed. Iif not with them now why and would you go back? I got a quote from them and they were quite a bit lower than state farm and even esurance.com. Also if you have had or do have insurance from esurance.com how are they when needed. And if not with them now why and would you go back?

I had insurance with Progressive for 4 years. Their customer service was great and I never had any issues with them. I am now insured with State Farm only because they were cheaper. When I went to add my Explorer to Progressive they wanted $190.00 a month for it and another car. With State Farm, I got a higher coverage limit and it was only $106.00 a month. I still think Progressive was a good insurance company though.

I've had them for about 20 plus years on several different cars fees were generally lower and claims treated fairly adequate only trouble I ever had was settling when one of my cars was totaled by my teenage daughter. They tried to low ball the price of the vehicle. With research over the net I was able to get a few more thousand out and that was a fair settlement for me. I would like to believe that any insurance company is going to try to see what they can get out of a accident for in the beginning. Never had any complaints other than that one. I think they are a good company to be insured with.

i have progressive for about 2 years. I have had to file a few claims (none of the accidents where my fault). Thier customer service is great! I have not heard good things about state farm. I have recommended progressive to all my friends and many have switched and have had no problems with them either. As with all insurance companies, make sure your payments are on time!

Neither yay or nay, but they certainly didn't write the book on service. There are other companies out there that Progressive has copied. Sorry to hurt anyone's feelings, but I've worked in claims for 16 years and when I first started no one even knew who Progressive was, so they can hardly write the book.

I had Progressive for almost 20 years. I filed a couple of claims with them through the years and had EXCELLENT service with them. They were very prompt, handled claims well, and my rates stayed within reason, and dropped back below what I was paying a few years after each claim.
I left them 2 weeks ago due to adding my 16 year old daughter to my policy and my rates almost doubled! I now have Response Insurance ( http://www.response.com/ ) and am paying less per 6 month month period with my daughter added on than I was through Progressive without her on my policy.

about 9 yrs ago, progressive was the only company who would cover my husband who had a bad driving record. The rates were high but at least he got insured!
We now have GEICO and we only pay $89 a month for 2 vehicles for full coverage. (perfect driving record discount).
so, Id have to say "yay" on Progressive.

Progressive had lost my payment, they had canceled my insurance and my state had charged me a fee of 250.00 because progressive claimed I did not make a payment, well we had the receipt from the office because we paid in cash. There is a lawsuit going against them for this reason. DON"T GET PROGRESSIVE THEY SUCK! It caused a big mess and a long time to fix it.

i represented Progressive for over 25 yrs and i have my own insurance with them, there is no better company, they wrote the book on service, they have made all the other companies change the way they serviced clients, most progressive claims are settled on the same day...my husband said he wouldnt change even if our rate went up, their service just cant be beat
