I recently exchanged my Canadian driving license for a full UK license but insurance quotes are so high because most companies only consider that I haven't had my full license for more than a year (in fact I have had a full Canadian license for 8 years). The insurance companies also don't seem to consider that I have had no claims on my Canadian insurance for 8 years. Does anyone know of a UK car insurance provider that will consider foreign driving experience in their quotes?

I'm 19 and since i'm not a minor, I was wondering if I needed to have a permit to get a license. I know how to drive and been behind the wheel before and feel confident, but what do the driving instructors require?

For parking, is parralell parking REQUIRED? Will I have to drive on a freeway? The area of the DMV office is residental so no downtown traffic or anything.

Just trying to figure out what the hardest things are and what to expect.

If I had an accident that didnt involve contact with any other vehicle
but another vehicle went into a ditch on the other side of the interstate for some reason near me, am I liable to pay for their damages? Their insurance company has been bugging me for over a year but I have not heard anything from a lawyer or court officials. I have asked for a police report and then they stopped contacting me for like 6 months. This is a very serious financial issue so any guidance would be very much appreciated. Help!

I was in a auto accident and the other party came from a side road across two lanes and hit me in the middle of a four-lane hwy. I called a attorney and he had me sign a paper for i/3 of my money and when I needed him he told me there were no laws to help me and he couldn't do anything to help me get the medical help I needed. That there was no law that said the ins company had to give me anything.

I was driving on a 2 lane road going 45 mph on lane#2 and spotted a car on lane#1 weaving back and front over to my lane... so I slowed down because he looks like he was drunk or lost. I honked at the car to get his attention and to alert him and it worked... he went back to his lane. So I proceeded to speed up and pass him since he was going in and out of the lane. As I was trying to pass him... he swerved over to my lane without signaling so my first reaction was to step on my brakes and swerve over to the right to avoid an accident. But he continues to swerve over more and caused me to hit the curb. I stopped the car and he slowed down. But when he saw that I was moving he sped up and left the scene. A witness pulled over and assisted me and said that it was totally the guys fault. Do you consider this my own fault or a hit and run since he caused the accident? What would the insurance say?

My brother-in-law bought me a car which I'm making payments for. I want to get my own insurance but can't cuz my name isn't on the registration. A friend told me about my b-i-l being the legal owner and me being the registered owner. That way, I could get insurance. Does anyone know anything about this and how it can be done? We can't sign the title over cuz I can't get financed thru a bank. Please let me know. Thanks

When my daughter totaled her 2001 Ford Escort we called the insurance company. My insurance company told me that their was only liability on her car!!! Of course, I freaked out and was steaming mad. The reason I was dumbfounded by this is because we owe $4,200 on the car and have the car loan through a local bank. Now, isn't it a law, that we should've had full coverage on this vehicle because we had a 4,200 car loan to the bank. On any other vehicle I have ever bought I know for fact that the bank made me have full coverage on that vehicle. Now, what do I do? Am I screwed, or is the insurance company at fault of the bank? I really am frustrated, please help.
