I'm 19 and since i'm not a minor, I was wondering if I needed to have a permit to get a license. I know how to drive and been behind the wheel before and feel confident, but what do the driving instructors require?

For parking, is parralell parking REQUIRED? Will I have to drive on a freeway? The area of the DMV office is residental so no downtown traffic or anything.

Just trying to figure out what the hardest things are and what to expect.

Living here in california here too.
No, you will not have to drive on a freeway. And Parrale parking is not required. When doing the driving test, the instructor will normally just take you on a drive in the area of the DMV, mostly side streets. He will be looking to see how much road you need to drive down a street with no painted lines on it. If you drive down the middle of the street he might (in my case) mention it. So stay to the right when driving.
Important tips:
1. Put on your seatbelt
2. Don't run into anything
3. Both of you come back alive
........Follow those tips, and your sure to pass the test!
Good luck!!
