Typically, adding another vehicle to your parent's household is going to be cheaper for you than anything else. Have their current agent give you a quote for the vehicle and have seperate billing set up. Progressive is good if you have a lot of tickets. If you have a clean record and good grades, then Farmers Insurance and American Family have good rates for teens. Also, try Insweb.com. You can get something like 10 quotes online and they send your info to up to 5 agents who will call you with rate quotes. Either way you will need full coverage insurance since it isn't paid for yet. This means you will have liability limits, and a deductible for collision and comprehensive coverages. Deductibles mean the insurance company covers anything over the cost of your deductible. You also may be able to get full replacement cost coverage since it is a brand new vehicle. That may be worth having since you still have a note on the car. Happy hunting.

Mercury or Progressive is not cheaper..It all depends on your age, your credit, your driving history, how long you've had your DL and how old your car is and is it financed. So umm you just got a new chrysler 300 for only god knows the reason y. Your looking at 300+ a month if you were in Houston most likely more. Im with allstate, my cheapest quote. Always call or go up to the place because the comps' quote are just that. Plus you have to get full coverage so dont expect to be payin any less. So just get numerous quotes and choose. Progressive always have those Drive independent agents I think but they were still high for me.

I just found car insurance online. I filled out the form. They did a search for the cheapest rates. A few minutes later a lady called me. 280 for 6 months. But at 16 and a new car. OUCH it's gonna cost. Maybe you can ask your parents to pay for the insurance so you can drive the car to work until you have the money to pay for it. Good luck! And I only got two calls and one email. It's not like I was flooded with calls.

Hope you have a good job. I'm in my early 40's, great driving record and I just bought a Dodge Charger (the Dodge version of the Chrysler 300) and insurance, in the state of Georgia, is over $1800 a year. Try to get the insurance in your parents name. That will help a LOT. Please drive carefully.

Get your parents to trade that for a Honda Civic. That 300 is going to cost a FORTUNE for a 16-year-old to insure! At your age, you're probably looking at anywhere from $350 - $1,000 a month for full coverage, depending upon where you live.

Wow, that's generous.
That said, where I live, insurance is more than the cost of the car for young drivers.
Good luck.

Since you are a minor the car is registered to your parents. The insurance will be in their name not yours. You will have to be added to their policy and you should be paying the additional premium to have you and full coverage insurance on it.
