I got a no insurance ticket about 2-2 1/2 years ago along with a no registration ticket. The car wasn't mine and I didn't know that the car had no insurance/registration.
I live in Illinois by Chicago, so it may be different.
I just found out that they suspended my license about 3-4 months ago, because I never went to court for the tickets.

You'll have to pay the warrant fee, if any, and then it would be best to talk to the prosecuting attorney in the municipality where you got the ticket to see if you can arrange for a "deferred adjudication" for the tickets. Also, find proof that you had SOME auto insurance at the time on ANY vehicle; this shows that you were technically covered by auto insurance for any vehicle you were driving at the time the tickets were issued. This will help your case and the prosecutor may be more lenient. Also, you'll keep your insurance premiums down.

Probably around $500 for the ticket and up to that much again for the bench warrant and other court costs. Then there will be reinstatement fees for your license.

Whenever you drive a car, it is YOUR responsibility to verify that it has insurance or that your insurance will cover you while you are operating it.

Pay the fine immediately so that you will have no more problem with the ticket. Usually, the offender does not win the case in court except when you have an acceptable valid defense.
