I traded a 2004 Silverado Z71 in for a 2007 Silverado Classic LT. My 04 had the 295hp 5.3L Vortec and a "T" as the 8th number in the VIN(the numeral that will tell you what motor you have). I looked at the VIN of my new truck and the 8th numeral is "Z". I think that "Z" is the code for the High Output(310hp and aluminum block) 5.3L Vortec. I looked at the sticker and it only says "5.3L Flex-Fuel Vortec V-8". The guys at the dealer weren't sure about whether or not I had the HO Vortec, but they told me that I should research what an 8th digit of Z means. They told me for sure that I can run on Gas, E85, or any mix of the two..... that's kinda cool. What the hell does "Z" mean for the 07's? Do I have 295hp or 310? Thanks!

in the car there is a 2.5 L V6 JDM engine (not stock), a rebuilt 5 speed transmission (swapped from auto to manual), a cat back exhaust, and an intake. There is a decent radio, a tv screen, i believe 2 12"s in the trunk, and neons underneath the car. the downfall is that the hood and hatch only have primer on them no paint. he is asking $2500. i would be selling my 1994 Toyota Celica ST 1.8L 4 cylinder auto to get the probe.the celica has 133000 miles and due to the engine and transmission swap i don't know the miles on the probe. i have been offered $2700 for my car so i could possibly make $200 by doing this.

overall my question is, is it worth it?

They are having a problem getting parts. My insurance company has suggested that I contact a state's attorney because Nissan has a car on the road that they can not get parts for; speicfically the alternator. Nissan has no estemation date of when they can get one and my car has been in the shop for over a month. Nissan has refused to help with the rental (my insurance contributed to the rental for the first 30 days), and my insurance company is suggesting I talk to the Secratary of State's office. Does any one know my rights?

My 1996 Ford Tbird developed a cracked input manifold. Why?IT WAS MADE OUT OF NYLON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Nylon can not tolerate the heat ranges that input manifolds are subjected to.Ford so called engineers didn't know this?Of course they did. They were overuled by the managment who think they are Gods.Wow,we saved 25 cents on each manifold, multiply that by 300k.Now we are talking real $.How many millions did it cost Ford for the recall?Ford had to redesign the manifold using aluminum which should have been the first choice. Now you know why Honda,Toyota, etc. are taking over the auto industry. And God bless them. When we get rid of junk builders like Ford,we all benefit.Ford,do all of us a favor and go out of business. You still have not learned the lesson.A GREAT GRANDSON DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY MAKE A WISE LEADER !!!!!! I predict that Ford and Chrysler will be out of the car building business in the near future.GM will be the only American car manufacturer. Thanks be to God.

I did some research and the toyota camry in 6 months has had a 73 complaints according to http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ The 2006 car of the year ...Honda accord has had 38 complaints. The Ford Fusion has had the least and is on Consumer reports cover in December with only 11 complaints in the 18 months it has been out. Why did Motor Trend not pick the Fusion? Is it because Ford does not spend the millions of $s toyota spends in advertising?

The entire truck vibrates and make a low hum like VRRRT( sound wise). Seems to happen when accelerator is pushed in slightly, such as when keeping a constant speed while going up hill. I think it is the torque converter, but what do you think could cause this? Vibration is anywhere from mild to quite severe, but overall driving is not affected. Vibration intensifies when the accelerator is applied more, but stops when foot is taken off the accelerator pedal. 4.6 L Straight Six, base model, no bells, no whistles. What do you think, and what is the basis of your training?

I bought a custom shift knob for my 2002 Mercury Cougar. The thing is, when you put the manual Cougar into reverse there is normally a ring you pull up to put it in reverse. The custom shift knob doesn't have that and the entire spring is exposed...it looks hideous. I've looked online and nothing seems to be right. The company I bought this custom knob from said it would fit, but suprise, suprise, they lied. So if anyone knows where I could get the correct shift knob please let me know. Thanks alot!
