looking to buy a new car. The Acura TSX is at the top of my list. I hate BMW and Audi.
Is there any reason to look at the 93? Will it be as reliable as the TSX?

I am fairly certain that it is the first o2 sensor. I recently had the downpipe repaired and the code cleared. It came back a few days later. Will I need the code cleared even after installing a new sensor?

2001 Saab 9-5, V-6 Turbo with 166,860 miles

Alternator went bad, had to jump it a few times then water pump started leaking so I parked it for a few weeks. Had the alternator, water pump and timing belt replaced. I also replaced the battery and life was good... well sorta...

The car, will drive along just purring away when all of a sudden the warning light (red triangle) comes on along with the brake light, the ABS light and the TCS off light and the speedo quits working. All other gauges are within norm. I can drive for a while, might be 5 minutes or 4 hours and then lights all go off and and the speedo starts working again... all by themselves.

I'm guessing some sort of limp home mode...

Hot or cold, overnight or all day out and about, this seems to be a mood thing.

There are no OBDII fault codes.

Any help? Idea?

It will occassionally start on a warm clear dry day Which makes me think it is the sensor. If you have any ideas let me know. Where is this sensor located?
Thanks

I am thinking if buying a 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero S. Does anyone think that this is a good idea. If yes, why...if no, why? If you own one, I'd be elated to know your experience so far owning this car. What is the car's performance level like? Is it durable? Does it require a high maintenance level? Your candid answers are expressly welcome.

Looking at a 2001 Saab 9-5 with 88,000miles for $5000. The car was in an accident and the back bumper completely replaced. Just wondering:
1. If this is a good deal?
2. Are Saab's good cars?
3. Are repairs really expensive for Saabs?
4. If we'd be better off with an older Toyota or Honda with more miles?

I've been told by two reliable mechanics that Saabs and Volvos with automatic transmission are much more likely to need major repairs or replacement than the same make with manual transmission. I'm seriously considering either a used Saab (a 2000 model year) or Volvo (1999) both with over 65,000 miles. Both cars are being sold by the original owners who have all the maintenance records, and mechanically everything else checks out, including clean Carfax reports. I drove cars with manual transmssion for 15 years and strongly prefer an automatic.

Can anyone give some list of pros and cons when it comes to Saab cars (like used coupes and sedans??)

Something about reliability, gas mileage, longevity, driving, braking, turning, engine, interior, looks (although I know Saabs are not "eye candy head turning vehicles", maintenance (as in finding new parts and mechanics), and anything else...

As odd at it is it also only happens around certain times? Most likely because of thats when I drive it most, always starts early morning and late at night but trouble times are mainly around 4. All headlights/interior lights work, fasten seat belt light/sound goes on, radio still works etc. The radio says Checking... then Check OK when it works and doesn't work. No noise from engine at all just a quiet noise that sounds like the antenna when it goes up and down (but it's not). Car will usually start within 15-30 minutes but sometimes longer. Also will sometimes work immediately after I move the car from Park all the way to gear 1 repeatedly? Not sure what that means, but it doesn't always work-therefore I don't thin its because the car doesnt know that its in park. This has stumped all the mechanics here- any ideas?
