Just bought a '99 saab 9-5 that came without the keyless entry remote and was wondering if i could buy one on ebay and take care of it myself or if i had to bring it into the dealership and pay some outrageous prices?

Thanks

years ago i bought a "chip" for my 9000t 91' i bought it from a guy on ebay for over 300.00 it was not the red box. i had to change a chip under the drivers seat, and one in the engen compartment, then do a adaptation run uphill w/ weight in the trunk, to teach it how to boost. the guy told me this was a euro modification. anyway the thing worked like a champ, bosted better, w/ a raw hp sound. my guess would be a 40hp gain. the car has blow a head gasket 80k later, and coppled w/ leaking heater core, broken windshild, and other things, the result is ebay parts car. i am trying to find out what this mod is called so i can list it properly. any help would be great. thanks john

I am looking at buying a Saab car now. I have never owned one and am moving away from my Camry.
I am looking at a Saab 2002 9-5 Arc V6 Turbo with some 116,000 miles on it. The owner is asking for $8200.
Is this car worth it? I am little bit worried as to the mechanical problems that I might face as people say that rectifying them will be expensive. But I kind of like this car and since I cannot afford to buy a new one, I am looking at used cars. How much more miles can this car go and is this too pricey? Should I get the price lowered? What kind of engine or other mechanical issues should I expect in this? With the high gas prices, I am also worried about mileage?
Everybody I talked to have advised me against going for this car. Please help me out.
Thanks!

Problem started in the past month (2/2007). The noise only occurs at high rpms (> 3500). I had replaced the tires recently, but sure the problem was occurring before that. My dealer tells me that the vehicle is working properly (so the noise is ok?) and that it's either coming from the new tires or the ESP/ABS/Traction Control Module. Are these real possibilities? I have disengaged the ESP on the dash, but still hear the same noise. I test drove a 2007, but didn't hear the noise. :) I'm taking my car to another dealer for a 2nd opinion. I use high octane fuel periodically to clean the injectors, and use regular the rest of the time. I notice the problem regardless of fuel type. Any suggestions?

My car was recently totaled (jerk ran a red light) and so I'm shopping around for something cheap but decent. The front runner as of now is:
2003 Saab 9-3 Linear
68,000 miles
Automatic
Clean CarFax record

From this information, do you think this is a good deal at $9,995 list price? And does this model have a good record on maintenance? I can't find much info on Saab's, and that concerns me.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I am wanting a 4 door Saab 9-3. I can't seem to figure out the difference in the ARC & Linear...and my insurance company said there is an "Arrow" package that will make my insurance a little higher. What does this package include?

I'm thinking of buying a 2000 Saab 9-3 Convertible for a great price and I wanted to know from those that own this particular model, how they feel about it. What are the pros and cons of the vehicle.

What are some common problems I may come across over the years? Are there certain mileage markers that require a general service check? If so, what should my mechanic be looking at? I drive 12000-15000 miles/year and would like to get 4 years out of this car.

I am trying to change the breaks on a '99 Saab 9-5, but I can not get the wheels off the car. The instructions state popping out the cap in the center of the wheel, but I just broke the decal off, and there doesn't seem to be a way to fit a screwdriver in there. Am I the only person that can't get the wheels off this car?
