I am wanting a 4 door Saab 9-3. I can't seem to figure out the difference in the ARC & Linear...and my insurance company said there is an "Arrow" package that will make my insurance a little higher. What does this package include?

You want to buy the 9-3 Viggen, for a couple of reasons. Not the least of these reasons is that the years 2000 thru 2003, (9400) body, 2.0 L engines have some real piston problems. The Viggen has the 2.3 L engine that is rock solid. Of course the 2003 and newer 9440 bodied 9-3's have the Saturn engine that GM discontinued due to poor longevity issues. Be mindful to avoid the V-6 engine just due to high maintenance costs. Your better buy money wise would be to move up to the 9-5 series with the Aero being top of the heap. They have the 2.3 L engine thru 2005, after that don't bother. Hope that helps you get the most Saab for your money. Of course you should have ANY car you are considering buying checked by a shop that hopefully specializes in the make. Good Luck

You want an AERO package OR a Viggen - which are the high horsepower versions & they have the best resale There is also a Harmon Kardon audio package & there is pushbotton on the wheel shift as well.

The ARC & Linear are the lower trim & horsepower lines - and this terminologyu changed in the early 2000's depending on the model year - IE An ARC is basically the same as a Linear. I have a 2002 9-3 SE convertible - which is niether & love it..Ebay has the best prices if you are willing to ship the car. These are great cars for the money because they depreciate so fast - the are alot of car for the money & they are pretty tough - make sure you buy 2002 & newer.
