It could be the Fuel regulator or the idle control valve, have these checked. In addition do a vacuum leak test. It has to be attended by a tech for sure but nothing to worry about. One of the above is surely the reason for erratic idling.

I would also think it is your idle sensor but as long as the check engine light is on you can take it to nearest autozone parts store only if the engine light is on they can check to see what is turning the light on thru diagnosis computer.and there isn't any charge for this. lot easier to start like this instead of buying some high dollar sensor and it may not fix it. and their is no return on electrical parts.usually. best of luck . I dont think it is very serious. but the computer diagnosis is probably the best way to start the trouble shoot as long as engine light is on autozone will test it. worth a try in my eyes.

if you look around the top of the engine you will see black rubber slim pipes . these are air pipes to the inlet manifold, if any of these are leaking your car will run badly. check them while the engine is running. you will find the leak.
