the best money you can by performance wise, reliability, gas mileage, and lots and lots of horsepower is a Subaru STi. Gonna cost you around $36,000 but it's all worth it. And maintenance is going to be expensive too...if ytou want just a reliable car but no power, try a civic

Anything Honda or Toyota makes will be reliable. Subaru is good also. There are still a lot of choices within your criteria. I'd reccomend picking up a Motor Trend and a Car and Driver magazine. They both have good info. Also, if you can wait a little bit Consumer Reports puts out an anual auto review. It's totally nonbiased and very easy to use. Try those resources and see what you find. Whatever you do, don't buy a Chevy Cobalt. It's a fun little car and it looks awesome but reliability sucks. Good Luck!

Alot of Chevys are known for being unreliable, but the corvette is an exception. The Corvette is one of the best car in the world for reliablitiy and dependibility. The Corvette is reliable and dependable because it doesnt have all that unneccessary gadgets that other cars have, and everyone knows that the more computer operated systems your have in your car, the more problem comes with it.

reliable.....subaru all the way. your motor is going to outlast your body of the car, now the sti you get 300 hp off the bat with possibilities on getting up to the 600 hp range with building the motor. now if its fast you want right off the bat get a good ol v-8, pretty much any will do. vett, stang, old school muscle car and so on. these cars push alot of hp and torque from the get go. but american made motors are not as reliable as overseas auto makers. but us v-8s have something that overseas makers dont.............brute power

any 60's or early 70's muscle cars will give you what your looking for in terms of value. yeah sure the vette does have all that but at 50,000. you might want to rethink it. any of these guys who say a toyota or nissans or subaru's have horepower are dillusional. 300 320 horsepower tops for those cars. compact cars are compact in all the sense.

BHP or Brake Horse potential is a measurement of potential. basically it quite is used to degree the potential your engine will word on your wheels to lead them to turn. yet, it relatively is in basic terms a million ingredient of overall performance. to illustrate, a hundred and fifty BHP is astounding in a motorbike yet completely ineffective in a truck. And vice versa, a truck engine might produce one hundred's of BHP in spite of the shown fact that it won't destroy any velocity archives.
