I bought a custom shift knob for my 2002 Mercury Cougar. The thing is, when you put the manual Cougar into reverse there is normally a ring you pull up to put it in reverse. The custom shift knob doesn't have that and the entire spring is exposed...it looks hideous. I've looked online and nothing seems to be right. The company I bought this custom knob from said it would fit, but suprise, suprise, they lied. So if anyone knows where I could get the correct shift knob please let me know. Thanks alot!

At a Car Repair shop....*LOL* *JK*
I'd go around to 'car places' and see what they have to say.
They can be alot of help sometimes.

Hope this helps!

The actual knob is separate from the reverse ring. When you took the original knob off the spring and collar stay with the shift arm.

Yes the 2001 and 2002 Mercury Cougars are the same. The headlights will swap easily.
