I got in trouble at my job over a year ago. I find it very difficult to even get an interview in the same career because of this. I invested my entire life savings to get the education for this career. I have been working in this field for 9 years, but all anyone cares about is last year, when I got in trouble. Should I find a different career which I have absolutely NO paid exerience in or continue to try to find a job in the same field where I have over 9 years experience?

I'm interested in getting in the medical field. Maybe sonographer, radiology, nuclear medicine, occupational therapist, counselor... it is endless, just no blood and guts really..

What do you do? Can you tell me about your training and maybe your income or an average income? Do you like it? Any advice?

Thanks!

I recently acquired a bachelors in Computer Science and have a good overall GPA. I have a strong work ethic and am eager to start in the field. I have posted resumes on Monster, etc.. I have been graduated for 3 months now. Does it normally take this long to get a good entry-level position in IT?

I have been driving a cab and working at a group home to keep my head above water financially because I spent the last five years in school surviving on financial aid, loans, odd jobs and CCs. I have had several interviews that seemed to go well but they always take their sweet time to get back to me, sometimes greater than a month. I've listened to and utilized several job hunting tips, including tailoring my resume to the job description and sending thank you letters. I know December was a bad time to graduate but it is already Spring and I am still carting drunks home in a cab and taking care of disadvantaged children (not the fields I had intended). What else can I do?

Just keep on having more and more children and watch how fruitful the earth becomes. See the children dying in other countries for their lack of clean food and water and wonder how soon the world can continue to aleviate becoming griped by disease. Because you are in a country that allows you to follow Christ you feel you have been blessed by God. How many of the poor people we see in South America, Asia, and Africa are living the good life although they believe. So Christ spread his word upon one race of people and said Render to Ceasar what is Ceasars and to God what is Gods. So Jesus caused more hate towards his people versus an enemy that was more powerful. As I watch Christians control the U.S. I see this country on the brink of collaspe; not because we believe in THE AMERICAN SPIRIT but because we are pressed into Christian religious ethic. Well I am a realist and I see more than God because I can see the results of HELL ON EARTH created by religious extremists and CHRIST!

My friend's current employer says that his lease prohibits the company next door from hiring his employees. My friend was never told this and is concerned because the company next door is currently hiring and pays more. Can an employer limit an employee's right to find alternative work without ever telling employees?

I have basically decided on two options in my life. One is to become a pharmacist and the other is to be a business major so I can persue either going to law school or opening my own business.

here is my situation, I am currently in community college and basically hate it because it is so impersonal.I really want to experience the university life. However, if I go the Pharm route I will have to stay at my CC for a long time (3 more years) and then transfer to a graduate school (miss out on my college experience).BUT, pharm is a very financially rewarding job and very secure.
OR
I can go the business route and either become a lawyer or get my MBA.Also, something Ive wanted to do for a while is open up my own business and I know this will prepare me for that. Also, if I go this route ill be able to transfer sooner and even go to a four year college somewhere.BUT it is very financially unstable and that worries me

whats your insight and pls be more specific than 'follow your heart'

I am currently pursuing an associate degree in Hospital Pharmacy Technology. I am going to take my PTCB testing this summer. I have worked for Walgreens over seven months. I was supposed to get a Pharmacy Technician position that was going to open up when I first started, that never materialized. I am in the pharmacy one day a week if I ask enough. Their training is very minimal to say the least. I want to work somewhere that will train me to become intuitive with the pharmacy. So if anyone knows or is working somewhere that would be a good place to start a career. By the way I am in the metro Detroit area of Michigan, Thanks.

recently revieced a negative performance review, my work situation sucks, where as I was supposed to have one boss I have two. One never deals with me the other interacts with me on a daily basis. I am in older office everyone is 30-50s and I am in my 20s. The one women is my supervisor hates me and I hate her, she contastly micromanges me makes no effort to communicate with me and cuts me out of all the perks of the job like expensive dinners with clients. Other people in the office I have befriended because they hate this women. The women is 2nd in command to my other boss and also does the lions share of his work for the unit. I know I am not long for the job started sending out resume looking at graduate school. I want to leave on my own terms not theres, is a call to HR worth while to document what has happened? I know I am being railroaded, however the job is a trainee postion .

Basically, I'm just curious if anyone out there currently has a medical sales position and if there interview was anything like his. First, the interview was 2 1/2 hours! They had a 12pm appointment cancel and decided to carry on with my husband. That was after 2 hours! They drilled him and roll played to find out his sales experience. He made both people interviewing laugh, and they were impressed with his brag book saying "It was the best they had ever seen" So, I'm just curious.I want any advice that would be helpful or you found to be helpful to your interviewing style. Also, any input on a great interview for him in the future if this isn't the job he takes.

Thanks!

I went for an interview last week for a legal assistant position. They called me back and asked me to come in one day the next week to "feel me out",I guess. This was yesterday. I have no experience in this field, but I do have taken some law classes in University. Anyway, I don't think I did too badly yesterday, I did the best I could, esp. since I had never done these things before. So today I got a phone call from one of the lawyers, asking me to come in Monday because they want to meet with me again.
Please tell me this is a positive thing!
