I am good in history, literature, math and english but I dont know of any high paying jobs that cradle these qualities. And I really dislike anything dealing with science other then biology. I'm afraid when it comes my time to go to college I will have nothing to major in that I love and will be studying for all the wrong reasons. I just want to do something that I love but can also get me good pay. But besides that, is there any job for me? Because so far, I've seen nothing I can do in the future and being unprepaired is the worst thing that can happen to me, now. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading. ^_^

I have been in this company for over 5 year, and my title is reliability engineering technician. Although I have been doing engineering work, I still earn a technician wage. Yesterday, I found a document in the printer from my boss with all wages from our department and I found out that not only I do more work, but I also get pay less from the entire department (even people who was hired after me). I'm the youngest in the department, however I earned my BS degree last year and I also have 10 years of technical experience. I felt so frustrated that I just cried all morning. how can I approach my boss about this situation? what would you do in this situation?

my work week start mon at 12:01 am.

I work:
Mon Morning 12am- 9am
thur 12 pm- 10pm
Fri 9pm - 9 am
Sat 9 pm - 9am
Sun 9 pm - 9 am

So i worked 46 hours for the work week--Mon 12:01 - Mon 12am

They advise me that I dont get paid over time for working over 40 hours in week because my regular hours scheduled dont exceed 40. so i would have to work 5 days 8 hours in a day before I go get OT for working over 40.

I disgree because I worked 46 sheduled hours in that week.

They made me change my 6 hours over 40 to reg time instead of OT. Who is right in this example? Im a non-excempt hourly wage earner. Thanks:)

OK I started a new job as an art director... which is a glorified graphic artist. I was there for five/six days and the president told me it wasnt working out. I was given a huge account to work on right away. I had to convert everything from quark to indesign... that takes time. I was not familiar with everything ... and it takes time. I feel like I wasnt given a fair chance and was wondering if anyone else agrees with me. You have to know people's styles.. where files are... and worked 12 hour days... didnt eat lunch. I was not a temp and feel that they didn't give me a fair chance. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening again? maybe ask in the interview for at least a month of training and learning the processes. I feel so bad about this. I needed this job. I did the work... the president wasnt happy with me ... and he mentioned in the beginning that he was not confident that I could do the work which wasnt a good motivator... why they hire me then? Suggestions? Thanks

I work at a small mom and pop deli only 5 or 6 employees. I have been there for the last four years and for the most part they have been good to me. However i have found a new job that almost limitless possibilities and they have offered to put me full time. Ive never had to put in two weeks notice before. What is the best way to go about doing it. What should i tell them and when is one day better then another. I know the sooner the better.

I heard many advertise companies seeks great voice to promote their products via powerful background voices during the advertisement plays. A perfect voice depends on catagory of products. like in some advertisement they need child voice, in some advertisement they need, soft voice , in some advertisemetn they need hard voice. BUT MAY BE AN ORDINARY PERSON'S VOICE MAY BE MORE POWERFUL THEN A SINGER.

I graduated from college 2 years ago and have yet to find a career I am happy in. I am currently in a position that I want to quit but I don't like hopping from job to job because it looks bad on my resume. The more I think about it, the kind of job I'd probably be happiest in, probably won't require a resume (like a bartender or something) but I don't know. I guess, I'm just looking for some advice or answers, because I want a job where I can make a stable income, have fun and not be stressed out all the time. Any advice would help. Thanks.

A co-worker of mine managed to fracture her hand at my work (don't ask me how, we work technical support for a large communications company) over a month and a half ago. She maintains a page on MySpace and updates it regularly. I am a friend of hers on the website and about 2 weeks ago I noticed the pictures section of the page she had nothing but images of her "having a good time" with her friends, drinking and basically enjoying her time off. Now, of course no one says she has to spend her disability time in her home doing nothing (but it does irk me to see this) What disturbs me is the fact that in her blog she's posted several times that she's currently looking for a job...but plans to use up all her short term disability from the company we both work for before leaving. What should I do? Nothing? Should I inform my boss?
