I graduated from college 2 years ago and have yet to find a career I am happy in. I am currently in a position that I want to quit but I don't like hopping from job to job because it looks bad on my resume. The more I think about it, the kind of job I'd probably be happiest in, probably won't require a resume (like a bartender or something) but I don't know. I guess, I'm just looking for some advice or answers, because I want a job where I can make a stable income, have fun and not be stressed out all the time. Any advice would help. Thanks.

I have taken many aptitude tests and they all tell me the same thing. I have worked jobs based on those test and I still can't find happiness. I'm so lost right now.

First you need to look carefully at the credentials you do have, and various jobs that you could like-where your credentials would have merit! Its a big world out there, and you have many opportunities to seek out the very things that interest you most! Next thing that you'll need to do is look deep into yourself, and rediscover those things that tweak your interest the most! If you don't have all the credentials for that interest, than you may need to consider going back to school-and upgrade! You have the ability obviously, because you've indicated that you have completed college-so you do have the learning discipline! I can fully relate to your concern about job hopping and appearance on the Resume! So...what I would readily suggest is,that you stick to the job(s) that you are doing-at least until you find the "Interest" or "Job" you are seeking! Don't be so easily discouraged! Alot of people are still searching out the ideal opportunity that they want most! It does take some time to establish yourself in the working world, and most people usually do not know what it is that they want to do...long after the school sessions have ended! In my case,I stumbled into my interests' by accident...not by any grand plan or scheme! So I stuck to my guns, and pursued it with great fervor. I also starting setting modest goals for myself. I would put out a maximum expectation as well as a minimum expectation, and then aim for the higher one. Objectively I'de aim for the maximum-but realistically I was shooting for somewhere in between that and the minimum expectation! So you need to set some definate goals,or more appropriately a really good Game Plan-and stick to it! And it would not hurt to go out and explore the job world up front, and personally speak to the people who do that kind of work-and ask why "they" like to do it? And if that particular job is interesting to you? Seek advice from these individuals...to give you an idea on how to start out! Alot of employers today are not necessarily looking for experience in many fields either. What they are looking for is ambition, dedication and a willingness to learn and try new ideas and concepts! They are also looking for "quality of character" and other good personal traits! I cannot say that I can help you in the Stress arena. Because there is no job to my knowledge-that does not have some amount of stress involved in it! Stress is an everyday fact of life...for most anyone! It's all in the way of how you learn to deal with the stress of a job,and the coping mechanisms' that you develope...in order to deal with it! You might want to consider a home based business! In this manner...you can control your work schedule, and because you personally know how you want it to run-that can cut out the middlemen and redtape. And this would cut off alot of stress, because you can control the pace and growth of your business! You only need to find a demand in the marketplace, and a "Niche" that you can succeed at! Bear in mind, that many successful business people have failed in their original attempts to start a business several times over! But! They continued to fine tune their efforts and practices, stuck to their objectives-until the business took off! Just take a look at Bill Gates,he did'nt initially do too well! But he had a really great idea...and he continued to pursue it! Now look where he's at today??? And he was literally shoved out the door...by other computer magnates, who thought his idea's were really corny-and now they are the ones who are crying fowl! And that took him several attempts-to get it off the ground. He is really the perfect success story of the time, and he did it with honesty and integrity! But look how old Bill Gates is now? He didn't go into his idea looking for rapid results-he did it by setting realistic goals, and developing a long term plan for his wonderful idea! And gradually built it up to where it's at now! It simply didn't happen in one "giant leap" either. So kids...now for another word lesson from Mr. Rogers Neighbourhood! Can you say Microsoft??? Go ahead...give it a try! See? I knew you could do it!!! You may someday soon...find what you are looking for! But study your needs carefully and thoughtfully. Set your goals and objectives, and try to keep it realistic! Treat it like you are eating an Elephant! Q.And how do you eat an Elephant? A. One bite at a time....!!! Hope you can find some of this advice useful in searching out your career objectives! : ) Thx. Theerrander.

I guess it depends on what you want to do.
I myself am only a teenager, but I am already writing a book and setting a stable career as an author for when I am older.
What would you like to do? Maybe a bartender like you said, or you could try to earn enough money so you can start your own club.
What do your friends do? Working with friends would be a great thing to do; it helps move you through the day.
Of coarse, you could be a writer, a musician, an artist. Find something that inspires you!
Try Monster for some job ideas, too. Someone there is ought to help you!
A career aptitude test would be helpful.
Well, I hope that you can find something that suits you well. May you find what you're looking for in life!

Maybe you can take an aptitude test. See what you're recommended in. Really think about what you like to do. Try to find a career that offers that with good pay. I'm only in high school, and I don't know what I want to be either. But I'm thinking you can try something. Maybe give it more thought. I'm sure you'll find something.

Sign up at a temp agency and let them send you out on different jobs. You get paid, you get to do differnt jobs and they are only temporary so it doesnt look like you took and quit to many jobs, that's a killer on a resume. Ther's also a chance you'll find something you like and can see if you can become full time.

I think you you should maybe take a little time and think about what things you are passionate about in life. think about what makes you happy to the poin t that you would do it even if you weren't getting paid hopefully one of those things is something that is a talent for you and after you figure what that thing is find a way to make it your living no matter what it takes. Life is to beautiful to live without being happy doing what you love. Every person has a gift and your gift will speak for you, just allow it to do so
peace

good thing about a bartender job is that you can try it without quitting your regular job.

Please try to find interesting work in you major. There aren't many professional jobs that don't involve responsibility which is some stress. but shop around. Good luck.
