Hi

here is my problem

I just started with a new company, about 4 months ago.
I have a contract position with them, everything is going well pay is good, people are ok and work is not challenging enough.

My pervious company would like me back and they are giving me a permanent position...and a good salary. I left this company on good terms.

not sure what to do.....

If you like the other company enough to return, with a substantial increase in salary, then go for it.

I would not have a problem going back to an employer if it offered security and $$$.

If you ever look for another job, just put that you were self employed for this period of time that there will be no gaps on your resume, although 4 months isn't too long of a time to have to explain.

I read this thing a while ago about how you can know if a job is right for you. And chances are, both probably arent.

If you left the last one, there had to have been something that you didnt like that made you leave. And if you leave this one, what if later you want to come back?

Maybe, you should give this one a little more time. Talk to a supervisor, tell them you arent challenged and you would like to take on bigger and better tasks.

Their answer will do the deciding for you.

Why did you leave the previous company? If you reasons for leaving have changed, go back, but if not it will be same as it was before, and you may not be happy.

Sounds like you liked the previous company but you have to think.... why did I leave that company to begin with?

Would go back to your previous job there is nothing the current job can do if you break it. A lot of jobs realize they had good employees once they quit.
