For most of us that is a personal questions. It depends on the location and cost of living where you live. If it was the US, you would be at poverty level.

well im basically a mechanicql engineer, changed my career into the field of engineering management, working now as production planning engineer, finished a diploma in project management from cambridge university, graduated from may 2003, im egyptian and flent in english language with good computer skills, up till now my Gross salary has not reached 270 $ and im looking forward to change my job would welcome any help or hints about this. oh i forget to mention that i have some intensive courses in Production management and Productivity management from the american university in cairo (one of the most reputable and expensive :) place to have any kind of education at)

Sounds like time to relocate. In the US, an experienced engineer can easily earn $8,000 per month.

I'm not an engineer (lower on the food chain) and mine is about 4 times that with no overtime.
