My husband has a job with bring home pay of 28,000 a year. We have a car payment(130) insurance comes to 1300 a year for house and car, we just bought a house which we put all our savings into. We owe 60,000 on the house(it is worth about 92,000 on the assesors page) we owe 2,500 on the car and it is dying. My husband is losing his job august 1st is his last day. I start college in may, I have about 2 years of prerequisites and then 3 years of nursing school. My husband needs to go back to work to get some kind of degree where he will be able to continue to get raises and such and make more than he does currently. He is in the electronics field with a civilian military job which requires him to be a part of the army guard which he isnt going to be doing anymore and it doesnt really cross over into a civilian field.

I'm 32 and have been working in IT since I graduated college. I recently have become extremly bored with my job and am thinking about a change. I know that there are many personality quiz type books out there to help you "do what you love", but when it comes down to it - does anyone really love their job? Has anyone made a successful career change, and was it hard? Is it possible to go into a different field and not lose that much in salary?

I have seen plenty of books on the topic, but I am more interested in anyone out there that has gone through the process.

Thanks!

I completed an application online for Costco... Less then a week later they call me up and leave a message saying that they are hiring and want to setup a interview. I call them back and talk to a lady that sets up the interviews, I agree to have a interview on thursday.

I show up at the Costco complete 2 interviews one with a supervisor and another with a department manager for the position. The department manager and the supervisor, both say I did good on the interview.

Anyway to make a long story short, when I left that day the department manager says I will get a call back on friday or saturday to setup the 3rd and final interview with the assistant manager. Come friday and saturday no call from Costco... I call back on monday to talk with the lady that setup my first interview, she isnt there so I leave a message for her with my number and regarding my 3rd interview.

Its been a full week and still no call. Should I assume they are not interested in hiring me?

Recently I've been looking for a part-time job but my schedule is already rather chaotic. There's a lot of job opportunities around where I live so there's a lot of possibilities. I'd also prefer working for a company and not mowing lawns or shoveling snow, I'm looking for a job I can put on my resume later on after college.

I'm in current need of a job and I live with my mom at the moment. As a push and motivation, she has given me a deadline to find a job or I would have to leave. Her and her sister finds me to be quite "picky" when it comes down to jobs. With the many future plans I have for college, student housing, and other bill related necessities, I wouldn't be able to settle at a low paying job. That's why I'm trying to find a job that would provide a sufficient income. So they see this as being "picky" Yesterday there was a job fair at a certain company that my aunt's room mate was hired on the spot at. Knowing that I needed a job, no one wanted to tell me about the job fair because of my "picky" attitude. Was this cruel or what??

My math skill is only average to somewhat good. My question is, do you have to be real good with math in order to have a good job/career? I heard that math skills are very important if you want to have a high paying job, is that true?

My wife is currently on maternity leave & will not be returning to work. She has not informed her company (a large corporation in NY) as yet. For 8 weeks she received full pay through short-term disability and her company, and was wondering if she could be penalized for simply quitting upon the end of her leave.
