I am about to go to the radiologist tech 2 year program.. and i was just wondering it any one else has this job. if they like it what r some of the perks or bad things about the job. and if you are exposed to that much radioation. i know you wear the strips on you so you can tell if you getting to much. but is there any evidence that getting a little bit a day is bad.. thanks for taking the time to answer this !

It's a good job, but it can get incredibly crazy busy sometimes. You get grumpy people, screaming kids, and people who will not get into the needed positions.

There IS blood (and vomit and crap), especially if you work in a hospital. And you don't have to worry about radiation exposure if you do things correctly.

Pros: working with people. No blood, good pay 40,000,room to advance to mri,nuc med,CT.radaiton therapy and others.

Cons: no respect, Kinda of a cookie cutter job. Radiation exposure. physical work, Job market is getting kinda crowded more and more people entering the field.

My advice get the 2 year degree work for a few years while in school. Then move up and on to something better like Ct or MRI

or get a bachelor and get into management or sales

Nursing is the best option. One, you have more opportunity. Two, you have more room for advancement. Three, hospitals are so desperate for nurses that they are paying a sign on bonus.
