Recently I've been looking for a part-time job but my schedule is already rather chaotic. There's a lot of job opportunities around where I live so there's a lot of possibilities. I'd also prefer working for a company and not mowing lawns or shoveling snow, I'm looking for a job I can put on my resume later on after college.

I just recommended my niece to apply with a grocery store. I worked for one for 6 years. It's great for a busy teen like you as the schedules are flexible and the are used to making accommodations for school-aged employees. The pay is also good and provides benefits and is union based. You have room for advancement in all sorts of areas from something as basic as a cashier to a Grocery Supervisor who can earn salaries upwards up to $80,000. And worse case scenario if you never find another job, this is job that you can make a career out of. Working for a grocery store is very reputable and there will be many skills, responsibilities and experiences that will make your future resume look quite impressive. Besides all of that, I truly enjoyed my career with the market.

the best job that is most flexible and can pay well is a waiter at a restaurant... you can work flexible hours, switch at the last second to cover someone elses shift or vice versa. Plus you gain skills communicatiing with people and can do catering services for private parties on the side with experience eventually bartend or find jobs later in college as well with experience. PS When I did it my college years i also met alot of babes too! hahaha

I would suggest looking into what interest you. If you want something that will help later in life, figure out what you want to do when you graduate college. Once you've figured this out take a look in your city for jobs relating to that field or internships relating to the field. Both would look great on your resume when your older but only 1 will bring in money.

You can apply for a customer service position, my dad owns a facility and usually those jobs are part time after school, and pay 10-15 dollars per hour.

How about a video store like Blockbuster? You'll get free rentals too. Lots of busy teens also work at movie theaters. Good luck!!!

A grocery store is a good place to start. It's clean, reliable, and you get the benefits of working with a Union.
