My Friend and I are trying to come up with a good lie. This is the scoop, we both work in a busy mortgage company. She is married to her husband who is temporarily stationed (Navy) in another state. Every other week she flies up to see him and she has taken some days off to see him and has left early several times from work to catch her flight. Well, she booked herself another ticket to see him next week! She is excited but she doesn't know whether to tell the managers the truth or not because they are already giving her a hard time since she is depended on so much. Plus, she plans to take time off in July to be with her husband because he is deploying. Should she lie and say something came up and she needs to leave or should she tell the truth? If you think she should lie.....WHAT WOULD BE A GOOD LIE TO GET OFF OF WORK EARLY? PLEASE HELP US COME UP WITH A GOOD IDEA!

I sit next to the guy that annoys me with everything he does. I probably wouldn't be so annoyed if he actually had some common sense & wasn't such an idiot. I can hear him breathing, talking on his phone & snacking on chips all day long. When he isn't doing this he's asking me questions that any idiot should know or he'll move stuff on my desk when I'm in other places in the office.
My boss refuses to deal with anyone in the office except for me. So when this idiot wants to talk to the main boss I have to screen him first to see if it's worth his time. I explained to my boss my position on the matter & he says I should go have drinks at lunch so calm my nerves. He seems to think that being drunk will help the matter.

I am an admin assistant for a credit card processing company - I do several different things here- I set up appointments for outside agents which generates my commission - WELL - the #1 agent has decided that I will not be calling for him anymore - which is going to be a big difference in my pay...I do have other programs I deal with here at work - but that was my main "source of income" - I do have a salary as well- God knows that it isn't enough... Should I look for another job?

I am just about to graduate from university with a Media Arts degree. I am struggling to find jobs.

I have been offered to be Assistant Manager at a shop which is a new store, but the same brand that I work for part time as a supervisor. It's quite decent money to start off with (18k) but I don't want a career in retail!

Shall I take the job?

ok im a junior in high school and i work at a pizzaria/restraunt. i just started there about a month ago and everyone there likes me, well they used to, but last night my boss called me asking me about an order that i recieved on the phone. someone wanted a 3 ft sub for today ( i recieved the order on monday) and the woman said she would come in that day to pay for it, so anywayy my boss called me last night on my day off asking me what time it was for and if i got a phone number. i didn't get them because the woman said she was going to pay on monday and i figured hed ask her then but she never came in. so he was like yelling at me on the phone but he didn't fire me and now i have to go into work today. im dreading it because i feel like they will all hate me.
so when i go in today i was planning on just saying "im am really sorry about not getting a phone number or time and you can take it out of my pay for the week if you need to for the sub" is that alright? thanks

I need a job. How would you react if an applicant for a post, said he was willing to work a couple weeks or a month for free. With no costs, besides training?
Is it better to suggest it at the interview or in my cover letter? Or is it just wrong...? I know my value (average new graduate salary) but .. I was always told to avoid money questions at first.

I have spoken to my boss last week about possibly leaving but I told him I hadn't made a definite decision yet. Today, my boss has offered to take me to lunch for Secretaries Day. Would it be inappropriate to tell him at lunch that I've decided to quit or should I do it before lunch or wait until tomorrow?

My friend is finishing his degree and staying in London for the summer and is going for a job there and was wondering what it's like.

He'd be working in one of the branches in central London.

Cheers for any help :)

I have seen many people talk about this, but an intern is someone that normally has just completed a degree or in the process of finishing it correct?? I am 22 and finishing up a bachelor's degree, but I began to wonder is 22 too old, do people prefer like 18 or 19 yr olds??? I probably answered my own question, but thought I'd see what people's response is.

Almost one year ago, I got a job I thought that would be fantastic. To get it, I made the sacrifice of a wage retrogression, left my country and moved to London with my then unemployed boyfriend.
Starting in my new role, I soon realized that it had absolutely nothing to do with the job description. In fact, even the job title itself had been changed (for a lower quality job, as you can guess).
My previous job (in the same company) was a lot better and the money too. My current job does nothing for my profile and I’m actually stuck doing things I truly despise and don’t care about, while I should be doing what I applied and signed for.
I discussed this situation with my manager many times, but didn’t get anything from him but promises. For the past 10 months, I‘ve kept thinking something good would come out of this, but now I can’t take it anymore. I thought this job was a chance for me, but it really turned to be more a waste of time and money.

I collected CA unemployment last year after moving with a military spouse to KY. My last paperwork said that if I am still unemployed as of next week ( I am, I live in a SMALL town) that I can file a new claim this year. Has anyone done this? What are the chances of this new claim going through?
