I need a job. How would you react if an applicant for a post, said he was willing to work a couple weeks or a month for free. With no costs, besides training?
Is it better to suggest it at the interview or in my cover letter? Or is it just wrong...? I know my value (average new graduate salary) but .. I was always told to avoid money questions at first.

I have been denied positions more than once because of lack of experience. I was thinking of doing it for one month. At most 3, if I really really love the company and the position.

I haven`t had internships and they have this canadian thing where they don`t intern you if you already graduated. (taxes..)

I wouldn't bring it up in the cover letter or in the interviews. The only circumstance I can imagine you should offer that would be if the company tells you that they are not hiring you because you don't have enough experience or education and you really feel it is a company you want to work at for a long time.

As a bussiness owner all i can say that as tempting it would sound to hire someone to work for free i wouldnt take that person seriously. The reason anyone would allow you to render services in their bussiness would only be because your capable. An internship opportunity is different because it is to your advantage to learn in the field you want to work for in the future. But if you are working for free for the mere hope that you get hired...that wouldnt make much sence...and for how long would you plan on doing this?
