Hi, my question is: in US, can I have my company in paralle with my current job? Of course "my company" will do something else different from my current job.

For example, I may do some potential product development in "my company" and I will spend money on it. When I file tax return, can I put these expense for tax deduction?

Thanks!

I am in my 40's and have been out of the job search for awhile and have a few questions. What is a hard copy of a resume? Should you interview with a company that gives you no info before the interview on salary, benefits, what exactly the job entails and if they call you the same day you apply? What if I don't have a hard copy of the resume? Thanks!

I worked a job from last august until january, and after winter break, I just never called to go back on the schedule and didn't come in agian. I'm working on my resume, and I wasn't sure if that should go on there or not- if I do, the new job may call and find out that i left without notice, but if i don't, it looks like I haven't worked since last august. Whats the lesser of the two evils here? I'm a college student looking for a full time summer job, and I'm applying to a staffing agency.

I was told by my boss last Tuesday not to say anything to my co-workers about a write up I rcvd I told no-one yet next day I was fired for "telling" one of my co-workers that I also considered a friend. I want so bad to get back at this person yet another part of me wants to just move on. By the way I was at this company for over 6 yrs and was about to top out salary.

My fiance was offered a senior position overseas. I agreed to the move and left a great job to follow him.

Now that we've been in the new country for 3 months, he's busy doing what he does best while I just can't find work. I have no friends, nothing to do... and I feel bored and very lonely.

He suggests that we should have a baby if I can't find work soon. We are comfortable financially, so money is not an issue. I am reluctant to have a baby right now because I've just graduated as a mature-aged student and want to pursue my career for a couple of years before settling down. He is 40 and I am 30.

If you were me, what would you do?
1. Go back to Australia to my old job (or find a new one) leaving him here
2. Find work in other country where there are more opportunities e.g. Vietnam, leaving him here
3. Just have the baby and become a homemaker
4. Keep trying to find work here for __ months before __ (please fill in the blank)
5. Any other suggestion?

Hi everyone

I am a senior member of staff and there are 2 new recruits in the office, they have been here a month and have been fully trained.

Now they are lacking in common sense.

One girl is asking about how to word a simple email to get a customer to call us! It is like I have to dictate the email to her!!

This one girl, is 24 and there is a manager is 44 and she speaks to him like he is something on the bottom of her shoe.

I will advise another girl how to work an account and she will say, 'well I dont agree with you, I will do this' WHY ASK THEN!

These girls do not seem to realise that they are on borrowed time and all I have to do is speak to the manager and get them laid off because they are incapable of working.

When the manager leaves, all they do is talk about horse hair weaves!!

What should I do about these girls because my patience is wearing thin!!

I work in an office where the atmosphere is warm, friendly and co-operative.
But I'm beginning to suspect all of my workmates are a bit mad.
Is this a real job? or something organised by my Social Worker to keep me out of hospital?

Or are your workmates as loopy as mine?

As of recently I've been thinking about maybe signing up to take the Post Office test so that I may work there. Anyone know what the test consists of? I know you pay for the package that arrives.

I have banking, clerial and customer service skills that I think I'll do OK if I work there.

I'm a business major, and i'm interested in both marketing and accounting, but I'm only allowed to choose one. Pros and cons would be appreciated.

some of the accounting classes are: financial statement reporting, managerial accounting, and federal income taxation

Marketing: advertising & promotion, principles of sales, consumer behavior.

also, which one do you think will have more jobs?
