If you don't have one already, put up a sign posting days and hours, show Sunday in big bold letters as closed.
If someone still shows up, tell them politely that you are closed, you are in the middle of a project and would be happy to work them in as early as possible in the next week if they will call you Monday morning. That way they feel important and not brushed off, and you are still telling them no, but just softly...
Or you could tell them that you can't see them on Sunday because it would not be fair to your family, etc. that is THEIR day with you.
If they insist on seeing you, tell them that you can't because then other clients would expect it as well.
Around here, in E TN, it is common to tell them it's the sabbath and you don't work on Sundays.
Remember, you are an accountant, not a heart surgeon. Nothing you do is life or death no matter how dramatic your clients make it seem :-) They can wait, and their lack of planning should not constitute an emergency for you :-)

have a sign that states . open during office hours only. and list the hours, including saturday and sunday being closed. have them in different ink. place this on the door in a conservative manner where your clients can see it clearly and will see that it is new. maybe they will gt the hint. also just dont answer your door on the weekend. unless you have people coming over. and itf you do happen to answer your door and a client is there looking at you. tell them that you are busy with another client and will have to speak with them on monday. you are the other client! they dont have to know who the other client is. you can tell you clients that you will be working with a specific client on weekends from now on and will only be able to speak to others during the week. i hope you have some answers to your questions. if you have anymore feel free to ask. im good athis kind of thing. have a great day!

Post your hours. You could also mail a form letter to your clients announcing your office hours and stating that there will be an additional charge for work done during you off hours or stating that any work dropped off on Sunday will not be started on until the following work day. This should deter your Sunday clients.

I think the easiest way would be to have an office entrance and a guest entrance. Have signs leading to the OFFICE ENTRANCE, and on the OFFICE ENTRANCE door, have a sign posted that says "CLOSED ON SUNDAYS" with the regular office hours posted below. On your guest entrance, post a small sign that says "Please Use Office Entrance for Joe Schmoe, CPA" with a sign pointing in the proper direction. Put a door bell on the office entrance that is distinguished from your guest entrance. Don't answer the office door in your off hours. Make sure your guests know which door to use. I'm sure some jerkies who think they are very important will probably try the guest door as well, but it would deter most people, I would hope. GOOD LUCK!

I guess this is one of the hazards of being self employed. They expect you to be there on a Sunday,
If your clients "disturb" you, then, perhaps you should just get 8 to 5 job and be done with it.

Simply place a sign in the window which states your hours of operation...Saturday and Sunday "Closed".
Also, send a short note/postcard to all your clients with your hours. Good luck and God Bless!

no one can help in this issue. as eveyone need help when ever they are in need.
In this case either change your office or house and get shifted in some other flat. or change the name on the bord of your house. Insted of your simply write your sun/daughter/wife/etc name on the dor without urs surname. and yes strongly tell no one about yours house.

Say "CLOSED on Sundays."
Or put your business days and hours on the sign. At the bottom you might want to put something like Please call again.
