Hi everyone

I am a senior member of staff and there are 2 new recruits in the office, they have been here a month and have been fully trained.

Now they are lacking in common sense.

One girl is asking about how to word a simple email to get a customer to call us! It is like I have to dictate the email to her!!

This one girl, is 24 and there is a manager is 44 and she speaks to him like he is something on the bottom of her shoe.

I will advise another girl how to work an account and she will say, 'well I dont agree with you, I will do this' WHY ASK THEN!

These girls do not seem to realise that they are on borrowed time and all I have to do is speak to the manager and get them laid off because they are incapable of working.

When the manager leaves, all they do is talk about horse hair weaves!!

What should I do about these girls because my patience is wearing thin!!

ONE of them demanded that I get them some cigarettes, I said back 'are you asking me or telling me?'

I should not have to work like this, with people who have been dragged up!

Hiya

They sound spoilt, selfish and inconsiderate.

My advice is to do your own job and when they ask you for help, just smile and say 'what do you think you ought to do'

Don't offer any further advice than that and let them make their own mistakes. If they are not working when the Manager is away (i.e. talking about horse weaves etc) then I think it would be a good idea to let the Manager know.

After all, if two people aren't pulling their weight along with the rest of the team, it would be better for the Manager / yourself and the company to replace them with people who want to be there and are willing to work.

Anyway that's how I would handle it - hope this helps

If they work for you and they are not performing, terminate them for poor job performance.

If they don't work for you, ask yourself if they are really bad workers or if they are just not giving you the respect and adulation you feel you deserve as a "senior member of staff." If the answer is that they are truly incapable of doing the work, then speak to their manager - but make sure it is aobut the quality of their work, and not about their demands for cigs, or you will sound petty.

Everyone has a boss, and if that boss is not you, you need to figure out what it is that the boss values about these new recruits that keeps them around. Hold your friends close, and your enemies closer - you may learn something.

I wouldnt become a snitch but it would be fair to let some part of the management team to acknowledge there is a problem and to deal with it.

I must admit though from what they have done and said they would have had a verdal warning by now at least

Tell these girls to get a grip and start doing some proper work or you will speak to the manager. They'll think you're a ***** but they might buck up their ideas. And would you really care if lazy people like that hate you?

Hey there, this is real easy, give them a few warning and get rid of them, they are never going to be dedicated to the job because they have a chav attitude,
good young employees are real hard to find these days, dont waste your time on the drosss, bag em off quick,,,

Sorry to say but they don't sound as if they are intelligent enough for the job, perhaps it might take a while for the to settle in but by the sound of it they sound unsuitable and would probably be more suited working in a factory or something similar.

Speak to the manager, register a formal complaint. They will get fired sooner or later and when they do, DON'T feel bad about it. These people have it coming and only have themselves to blame. You don't have to take this nonsense from them, you have a right to be happy. Act now and remember

DON'T GET MAD, GET EVEN!

if they're still on their trials then get rid of them. There are too many people like that where I work. Trouble is they wait till there feet are firmly under the table before they start with their useless behaviour.

I know just what you mean - am in the same situation myself. My colleague is 21 (I'm 34) and she is completely lacking in common sense and always screwing things up. Who gets the blame? Well I do don't I cos I should know better apparantly!
