Before you can get into medical school to become a pediatrician, you need to first complete your BS (for most medical schools) and take a year of each of the following: General Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, General Physics, English, and usually at least a semester of Calculus. You can major in anything, but need to take these classes.

Also, remember that medical school is extremely competitive, so you need to keep your grades up! It takes most people 4-5 years to get their BS, and then another 4 years of medical school. You'll also have to do a residency/internship after medical school before you'll be on your own, which might only be one year for pediatrics. It will all be worth it in the end though if helping children is your passion!

Four years of college, followed by four years of medical school. After that you will go to work in a hospital as a resident in a pediatrics program. Time there can vary but you will be a working MD. There you will learn your specialty. Hard work, but worth it in the end. Good luck.

You need at least four years of undergraduate studies and four years of medical school. Then you do your internship and residency. What a great field to go in. It will be a lot of hard work, but worth it. Good luck. :)

Four years of college, then four years of medical school, then two years residency, then a year or two of specilization training for pediatrics, so about 12 years.
