I'm a business major, and i'm interested in both marketing and accounting, but I'm only allowed to choose one. Pros and cons would be appreciated.

some of the accounting classes are: financial statement reporting, managerial accounting, and federal income taxation

Marketing: advertising & promotion, principles of sales, consumer behavior.

also, which one do you think will have more jobs?

Both of these fields are good, but I think that there are more jobs in Accounting, and the salary range is higher. I didn't look up what city you are in, but a city any size will have employment opportunities for Accountants, but for a good marketing career, you should be in a larger city.

Also, have you considered specializing in MIS? There are lots of opportunities there as well.

Accounting is very easy to find jobs right now, but they're very much inside the office. Marketing jobs are easiest to find if you like to do sales, and can often be outside visiting people, but you have to produce to earn a stable income. So it can be more difficult. You have to decide which lifestyle and job type fits you better.

Personally, I think Finance is the best choice, but I'm biased.

Personally I'd have to go with accounting versus the cut throat, very stressful, ever changing, and high pressure marketing field.

Accounting is stablized and provides many opportunities to freelance or start your own business without much start-up costs.

Just something to consider

About 90% of the CEO's come from accounting.

Acounting is boring, tedious, dirty work, but somebody has to do it, andthose who do it well get rewarded quite well.
