As of recently I've been thinking about maybe signing up to take the Post Office test so that I may work there. Anyone know what the test consists of? I know you pay for the package that arrives.

I have banking, clerial and customer service skills that I think I'll do OK if I work there.

The postal systems has many positions, and as many tests for potential employees.

Depending on what position you'd like, IE... city carrier, rural carrier, sorter, handler, etc, and the lists goes on.

They have what is called the battery I and battery II tests. One is for a certain position, and the other can get you into just about any available position. You also have a one day driving training and testing.

The postal exams/tests aren't too difficult but they can be tricky and you definately need to have a great memory to pass them.

As a carrier, for about the first two years, you'll work filling in for others that are on sick leave, vacation, etc.. You normally don't get a dedicated route of your own until you've been there for about two years as a carrier.

Pay is great with time and a half, for over 40 hours, and double time for certain amount of hours overtime, plus night differential pay for hours before 6 am, and after 6 pm.

Great pay increases annually also.

Hope this has helped in some small way in your job/career consideration.

i became a cca for 16months. i lately quit to settle for yet another interest which will pay greater and has wellbeing advantages and paid time without work. i became very solid on the interest and would desire to hold any direction interior the place of work. for my section, the usps will proceed to lose high quality cca's because of the fact there is basically no think approximately staying a cca for years and years with out the wish of changing right into a "common". its basically basically no longer nicely worth putting up with all the crap and having no time without work.
