I plan to go there for the first time in April.

I did have Cuba in mind, but read on the Cuban embassy website that crime is up, and im terrified of anywhere you can get a life sentence for drug offences. Plus no public displays of affection and to wear suitable clothing, not allowed a hairdryer etc. All seems very strict.

I dont know whether all the islands are like this, i just want to have a nice relaxing holiday, where i can take my straigtners with me!! and beautiful beaches are a must! and friendly people, nice atmosphere etc.

Any suggestions of where to go?

I know it's the rainy season - but are we talking a steady torrential downpour all day long, a short period of rain each day, or what?

Thanks

Ireland has it, Scotland has it, England gets it in a few months, the French are phasing it in as of today, parts of the US have it, I believe Peru and the Philippines have some sort of a ban... what other countries?

I often edit Wikipedia... adding links and categorising pages.
When I come across biography pages of Indian people (that is, people from India) the name is often in initials.

Why don't people write out the whole name?
What do the initials stand for?

Here in Liverpool the Catholic cathedral is affectionately known as 'Paddy's Wigwam' on account that it is shaped like a wigwam and it was build by Irish labourers.

Is this racist?

If it is, could you suggest another nickname that still implies the debt of gratitude that people here in Liverpool owe to those who built it?
