I think 4 days would be perfect for shopping in Bangkok itself.
You can choose to go to MBK, Pratunam, Siam Square, Suan Luam Night Market, Chatuchak within these 4 days of your trip there.
Apart from shopping, for clubs to chill out, there are plenty of them and thus Bangkok is branded as 1 of the top night lives cities in Thailand. Sukhumvit Soi 4 has got alot of these sleazy & nice clubs and message parlours.

As many as you can!! I give You an example,
- If you look for some cheap cloths, go to "Platinum" - the shopping complex with very very cheap cloths which sell in lots
- The very best place to buy the cheap electronics for Thai people is "Pantip" which is located near platinum.
- The new luxuary shopping center which is located in center of Bangkok - "Siam Paragon". You can find everything here with affordable price or some brand with unreasonable price.
- "Siam square" - opposited to Siam paragon. The center for Thai teenageer. You can find teenager cloths here.
- The night Market at Suan Lumpini
- Weekend Market at Jatujak
- The huge Central world Plaza
Enjoy your days!!

1 or 2 days, I am a expert shopper and i didnt find Thailand shopping that great most of the markets sell the same things, the malls are ok but i found the clothes to be very small and somewhat outdated (no offense to any thais out there sawatdi ka)
The best market in Bangkok is the night market in the city, just ask any taxi driver they can take you there

Depends on your budget and time. You can get quite a few things in Bangkok, and the limit will be your pocket and your luggage. If you really want to shop, I can bring you to quite a few places in and outside Bangkok for a week stay..

i would suggest at least 4 days...jatujak itself takes up at least 1/2 day and you would want to go back for more ..so 4 days is definitely enough
