My girlfriend & I arrive at an awkward time (11 pm roughly) and are catching a flight to Chiang Mai first thing in the morning (to return to Bangkok later). I have not been to this new airport - will it be comfortable to hangout there over-night until our flight in the AM, or should we consider staying at a hotel nearbyl.

I'm talking good service, not too expensive and where they don't charge you for being a foreigner. I'm in Dusit so if it's close thats good as well.

Okay... I know many asked ths question, but it isn't quite what i'm looking for...

I would like to have an example itinary. I have no idea about that place. I'd like to go free and easy without a tour guide... I won't be going alone but i'd really wanna know what you guys did there and enjoyed (no "me-love-you-long-time" adventures, please) so it'd be easy to plan

Thanks in advance

I'm going to Bangkok in 3 days' time. What are some nice Thai food that comes without pork and pork-related ingredients? I want to try local Thai food. I'm willing to try anything from street Thai food to restaurants as long as there's no pork in it. I'm not a muslim but I just don't eat pork.

Pls write the names in English and Thai if you can so thatI can copy the words down and try to find these food in Bangkok. Thank you.

but i went to thailand to meet her parents...her parents live in Patong a tourist area full of prostitutes...and to tell u the truth i hated the experience.....lots of prostitutes and i think it cheapened my image of thai girls.......i know its ridiculus cause 99% are normal girls.....but i just hated the fact that people thought maybe that she was a prostitute cause she was with a foreign guy. The main thing is i would hate for somebody here in Ireland to see me with this girl and cause they only went to these red light areas...they would think she is a prostitute......it eats away at me that thought......im a good looking guy maybe i dont need that stress.....what u guys think of the situation???????????..P.S i love the thai girl.....( its just a silly insercurity of mine i know..but im curious what people think) thanks

I'm visiting Thailand in late January, early February. I've done the usual stuff: temples, Grand Palace, floating markets, night bazaars and beaches. I'm looking for something new, some places to party. I'll be in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai. I'm in my mid-20's, traveling with friends and family.

I'm also bilingual, so I can go most places easily and unfettered.

Thanks for any tips you've got.

I'm going on a holiday next week in Chiang Mai, Thailand, but unfortunately I had never heard of that place until my mother informed me that we were going on this trip. Some of my friends who have been there before say it's all night markets and bazaars, which kind of put me down, but others said it is now more modern with many shopping malls, and I am a complete sucker for shopping!

So, here is a list of my questions :

1. Is it a good shopping spot? Can I get things cheap?

2. What's the temperature there? I know it's chilly, but should I wear thick winter clothing or would a simple sweater be enough?

3. Are there any nice sight-seeing spots? I didn't sign up for a tour, but I'd like to have a few tourist spots in mind so I can order the taxi driver around. Lol =D

That's all. Thanks so very much!

I know I'm not the first to ask, but I'm honeymooning in Thailand in July. Is the weather going to be horrible?

Where should we go and stay and do?

I'm a beach goer. Fiance is an adventurer. We're thinking Chang Mei, Phuket (and island hopping around there), Bangkok, and maybe an elephant training camp.

We want flexibility but some structure as well.

we're thinking 2 or 3 weeks, budget is about US $10K
Thanks!
