Can someone please tell me if they know a good rent-a-car deal for Phuket Thailand?

I will be going there next year in January for a month and i was wondering if anyone knows a good rent-a-car deal.

The best i found so far is 700 dollars per month.

I am looking for a compact car (no convertible) with air conditioning and 1.5 L minimum.

Thanks!!

I can spend only 2 days in the rainy forests of Thailand. Are the forests and mountains from the North (Chiang Mai area) as being very different from the one often suggested in the South (Khao Sok)? I am mainly talking of the vegetation.

I basically travel very quickly. I already booked an airplane for a full day in Krabi because the rocky areas was the most scenic that I could figure so far.

Now! I want to book a second trip 5 days earlier in the second best scenic area. Swimming isn't the most important. I want to enjoy and take pictures of the area.

Should I spend a full day in Surat Thani, Phuket, Hat Yai, Trang or Nakhon Si Thammarat or another? (I will be there in Nov., I am from Canada).

It has to be popular so I won't have too hard of a time finding it. Any genre is fine, as long as it's not about Muay Thai...I've watched too many action movies recently. Also if it's in Issan, even better, I won't have to read the subtitles...but if it's in Thai that's fine too.

Thanks!

I'm from the states. i have been to Thailand 5 times. I go there for vacation every 3 or 4 months now. I mostly travel through all the provinces, and surrounding countries trying to see all i can. It seems the only women i meet are the usual bar girls and i don't even hang out in bars, and approaching a "normal" girl or finding one just to strike conversation with doesn't seem to happen too often. I'm not looking for a dream girl, a wife, or a girl for one night or anything like that, but just to talk to someone or hang out with someone, and get to know them a little while i'm there would be nice. Any help, clues, hints?

In my first travel, I would enjoy to find that rare city built within a lot of hills, rivers, bridges and parks ... something tropical ... That city shoud have less than 100,000 inhabitants, out of the normal touristic circuits. An authentic Thai city ....

Note: Malaysia (the section North of Singapore).

I love walking and exploring when I travel. Will not really shop but just visit those areas. I want to see the nature, the nice parks and buildings. In 9 days, how should I divide my time between those 3 countries?

There are 4 train lines in Thailand (North, East, South, Northeast). I plan to visit Thailand in 5 days while using the trains. I want to see something different of North America. I am a backpack traveler loving walking. Which line(s) should be the most exotic? Which cities to stop and walk around?

I put it in, and it can't read the Thai card or get a signal, the card is good. I know the American phone companies sabotage the phones you buy so you can only use their sim cards unless you enter a code, where do I do that? I'm in Chiang Mai.

I am referring to expats or those who go on vacation to Thailand and end up falling for or even marrying someone Thai. I am guessing the one who is Thai is the lady and not the guy. Is there even a case of a Thai guy with a foreign lady?

Anyways, how can they be together if they can hardly communicate? I suppose one or the other will know simple phrases, but it must still be rather difficult. I am of mixed ancestry, one of them being Lao. I can understand Lao, and can speak it....in a decent manner (imagine a newly arrived Hong Kong person in the U.S....they can speak English, but it's broken) Even though I could communicate in Laos, and most of Thailand, I found it very frustrating and often referred back to English.....
