Best way? Probably take a taxi or limosine. There is a public bus number 554 that goes directly to Don Muang. The buses in Thailand seem to go as fast as molasses sometimes. And it can depend on the time you arrive. If you arrive around 8 am or 5 pm, it probably could take 3 hours because of rush hour traffic.

I have not done it. If it were me, I would take a sedan limo to Don Muang to have the best chance. The drivers will understand best if they can do it.

Good luck

It should take about 55 minutes on the airport shuttle bus (go downstairs and outside at Suvarnabhumi) and costs next to nothing (need to buy a ticket first). Or go to the desk (again downstairs) and they will give you a fixed price for a taxi. Should be about 300-400 baht.

Bangkok traffic is serious in the rush hour but what the hell, you have a fixed price and you are on holiday.

Take one of the airort shuttles.
Fixed departure times, fixed price, no fuss.

Maximum worst case duration of the trip will be one hour.
