they never checked my wallet when i enter Thailand, so if you don't look like a bum when you arrive here your have no problem getting in. as for the writer who say's you need 750 to leave Thailand, if she is referring to the airport tax it's 700 baht and it's now included in the airfare as of 1 Feb 2007.

In over 40 trips into Thailand I've never been asked to show "sufficient funds" for entry into Thailand. However, on a Thai Embassy webpage they do state that people who are "hippie in appearance" can be denied entry and I would think more likely be asked to show funds. If you are clean-cut they won't even ask. I've never seen a stated amount of what they consider sufficient funds, but I'm sure it would have to be enough to insure that you can pay for food, lodging, transportation and other incidentals for the length of your stay, also having atm, debit or credit cards along with some cash or traveler's cheques will suffice. I just saw a show about Australian immigration, and they denied entry to someone who had $500 US for a ten day stay, saying it wasn't enough, and deported him. I wouldn't worry about meeting any requirement the Thai govenment imposes regarding money, I would worry more about bringing enough to have a pleasant and fun trip. Good luck.

You now do not need any money to get out it is all included in your fare, negeshia probably hasn't been in a while.

As far as being asked for funds as long as you have a credit or ATM card then that is enough to get in I have never been asked for an amount of money.

Make sure you know your hotel or accomodation address for the visa on arrival application, filling in all parts including the back of it which asks your income and make sure it not just $10,000 a year even if it is.

I am planning to go there as well in Nov. I travelled a lot and it doesn't make sense to have a lot of money. That money is on my debit card and my credit card. Furthermore, I will not buy the bahts before being in Thailand. Airplane tickets and lodging already paid with my Canadian's $.

Actually nothing. But you need 700 baht to get out. Well I arrived in January so they made me pay when I left in March.

From February 1, 2007 the 700 Baht departure tax is now officially included in the flight ticket's price. However, even after that date and as late as June, 2007 some travelers with American and Singaporean passports have been singled out to pay an additional 700 Baht unofficial "departure tax" in cash in order to get their passports back from inspectors. Whether this can be construed as a bribe imposed unilaterally by some airport personnel is an exercise left to the reader.

But yes I understand that they now charge it as part of the ticket price.

No. you mustn't be asked for it. whilst you're staying in any of the main vacationer locations, there is amazingly little threat for malaria. in fact, the CDC presently does not advise tablets for malaria for customer to Thailand. In some uncommon cases, whilst you're getting into Thailand from a rustic with lively yellow fever, you would be asked for data of vaccination. i've got traveled fairly in the process the international the previous ten years to over 50 international locations and have on no account been asked for data of vaccination.

They will only check your bank account only if you want to live there. Otherwise they will not care how much you have in your pocket. Flashing your cash will only invite rackets to you like fish to a bait.

Be cool, man. Stash your cash.
