I can't give you a internet site , I live in Thailand and the railroad is very inexpensive, i Like to travel sleeper Out of the main Station in Bangkok Leave about 8 PM and arrive at Chang Mai or Nong Kai on the Lao border at 8;00 am, Sleep all night and wake up at your destination. Remember pay a little more and get a lower bunk! Also the bus lines are good and also not expensive, travel #1 bus ,as the others make a lot of stops. Thai's are very friendly people and a smile goes a long way.

There are only five main rail road arteries leading to/from Bangkok.
If you need to know each local station and which train (there a 4-5 levels/classifications of train service) that stops where when, you need a train schedule.
