I have the same problem when I go travelling to other countries. I could spend hours doing research on the internet finding out about where to go, public transport, tours etc., but I don't. I find a local private tour website and book a tour for the first day of my visit. That way I'll get able to get talking to a guide in advance of my arrival who'll do all my planning for me and give me lots of free info. about how to get around, places to eat, etc. By way of a thank you, as long as the price is reasonable, I will book a couple of tours with the guide to keep him or her happy. I'm off to Hong Kong later this month for a one week vacation and this is the technique I'm using to sort out my sightseeeing schedule. Why do the work yourself when there are plenty of people out there that do this sort of thing for tourists (for free) as part of their jobs?

Sounds like you have two partial and two full days in Bangkok, and not too much time on your last day. Despite what others have said, Safariworld and Dreamworld will each take the better part of a full day, just the travel time to each of those places will take almost an hour each way. So it's probably best to go to these two places early on each of your two full days. Both places offer tours with hotel pick-up or you can go independently on your own, any tours there will take all day. You might want to go to Chinatown on your first day, as things don't start moving there until around noon or so, and may be your best opportunity to go there. Siam Oceanworld inside the Siam Paragon shopping mall and the Platinum Mall are both open until 10:00PM and you can fill in any time you have left on any of your days to go to one or both of these two places, as they are close to each other. The best way to get to Chinatown is to take the subway to the Hualumphong stop and taxi from there, Siam Oceanworld has a skytrain stop right there, the Platinum Mall is about a quarter mile or so from the Chitlom skytrain stop and you have to take ground transportation to Safariworld and Dreamworld. Sounds like you're going to be very busy, have fun. Here's a list other shopping malls, I really recommend the MBK mall, it's great for inexpensive clothes , souvenirs and a little or a lot of everything:

Hi Adele, looks like you know what you want to do there. What I can suggest for you is that on arrival, you will be heading to your hotel. Check either at the travel desk in the airport or at your hotel for tour package to Dreamworld and Safdari World. These 2 places will take half a day each and will fill one of your days already.

As for Platinum Mall, this place is within walking distance from Siam Paragon where Ocean World is. What you can do is head to Siam Paragon for a morning visit and a bit of shopping, lunch then head over to Pratunam where Platinum Mall is. Just across from Amari Watergate Hotel, you will need more time here to shop for your items. :)

So that is 2 days.

Wonder what do you plan to do in Chinatown? If you want to shop, I will suggest going there after lunch, visit Wat Traimitr wnere the Golden Buddha is. The gold shops there are also popular with visitors. Best thing is the seafood dinner you get there. You can have it along the street or in one of the restaurants in the area. So this can be half a day or if you just want to have dinner, you can go after one of the day trips.

This will leave you with some time for a day. If weekend, head to Chatuchak Weekend Market to browse and shop. Definitely one unique shopping experience in Bangkok. If not, fix yourself for a day trip to Damnoen Floating Market and Aprime Rose Garden Resort Elephant and Cultural Dance. A whole day activity for this package.

Half a day left, book yourself for a river cruise to look at Bangkok from a different angle. This should fill your stay in Bangkok.

Enjoy yourself. Main thing, have fun.

Just remember that...

"One night in Bangkok and the world's your oyster
The bars are temples but the pearls ain't free
You'll find a god in every golden cloister
And if you're lucky then the god's a she
I can feel an angel sliding up to me.

One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble
Not much between despair and ecstasy
One night in Bangkok and the tough guys tumble
Can't be too careful with your company
I can feel the devil walking next to me."
