Many of the answers given seem to be based on the assumption that your wife is a former prostitute and some answers even imply that all Thai women are like that.
Since I don't have a Thai girlfriend or wife, I'm not in a position to judge other's experiences, but I must say that this simplified presentation of Thai women is an insult to the Thai people and not in accordance with how/what I have experienced in Thailand.
If your Thai wife disappeared in Thailand, hire a private investigator to find her.

Dont get a wife. Just find one for the night, and then out next morning. Easy, simple and the girls love it that way also.
