I am going to take the kids and dogs to Wiltshire tomorrow rather than sit indoors.. we plan on visiting the stones at Avebury, Stonehenge and the Kennet Long Barrow but is there anything else we can do too? We are travelling over 300 miles there and back so want to make it a special packed day. Also am I right in thinking every shop will be shut? It'll be nice to get a cuppa throughout the day!!

Thanks and Happy New Year!!
X

Hello UK,

If you were an American visiting the UK, what places would you visit? I have been to London, Edinburgh, and Bath - I want to see other places. I have 5 days. Also how much is gasoline on your side of the pond if I decide to rent a car. Any advice will help :)

I'm American and plan on moving to England. Here, we can afford a house below $300,000 that isnt attatched to the neighbors and the outside doesnt look like it's in shambles. I'm afraid that I cant afford anything over £200,000 because in US currency it would be $400,000. Why pay for something that looks like ****? I dont mean to sound offensive (I love the Brits, and the reason why I plan on moving over is to be with friends) but why doesnt your government do something to help its people?

Can someone explain to me why British cars are so expensive? I know they have to put the steering wheel on the other side, but you'd think that the incredibly strong Sterling would offset that. I've just been thumbing through a UK Top Gear Magazine and Brits are being screwed! Pretty much any car you care to mention is double the price of the US equivalent. I was thinking of moving back to the UK in the next few years, but being ripped off was one of the reasons I left in the first place.
