It totally depends on where you are, but its normally as follows:
24th December - Services wind down after around 6pm
25th December - No Service
26th December - No Service
27th-29th December - Saturday Services
30th December - Sunday Service
31st December - Saturday Service, but winding down after 6pm
1st January - No Service
2nd January - Normal Service Resumes.

Some places do have buses on 26th December, and 1st of January, however most do not

Depends where you are.

Take Stagecoach West Scotland for example.

In much of Ayrshire, Saturday services are operated on 27/28/31 December, albeit with last journeys on the 31st being about 9pm.

But throughout Dumfries and Galloway, normal services are operated on 27/28/31 December, again with last journeys on the 31st being about 9pm.

Yet in Glasgow, normal services are operated throughout on 27/28/31 December (ie with NO early run-in on the 31st)

Depends where you are; In London and in most of southern England Saturday timetables are operating on Thurs/Fri 27th/28th Dec and Monday 31st Dec. On Tuesday 1st January a Sunday type service will operate with normal services from Wednesday January 2nd
