I've been to Edinburgh twice and would love to go again!! There is so much to see & do. Edinburgh Castle is a must - you need to spend most of a day and check out every nook & cranny and be sure to watch the 1 O'clock Gun fire. The Prince Street Garden is another must, as is walking the Royal Mile. I just got on one of the city busses and rode (on the top, natch!) from one end to the other. Great way to see different parts of the city. Also, the Royal Yacht Brittannia is worth seeing. Last time, I was traveling by myself, but the people are so friendly, I felt very welcomed everywhere I went. The Vaults & Mary King's Close are also interesting.

Loch Ness is beautiful, and the trip there through the Highlands is totally gorgeous!!

Hope you have a great trip!!

Im very happy u like scotland so much! It's a beautiful place! It's just like Ireland, which is where I live. It's usually always cloudy, cold and rainy. But that is the beauty of it! I dont know if your into paranormal stuff, but there are A LOT of haunted castles in Scotland! So that would be cool to check out. I'm not sure if there is much crime there...but im sure you'll have lots of fun! Oh also, i got a flyer today about a gypsy horse trail in scotland! So i guess you have a tour of scotland on horseback! My dream...ahh well have fun!
Hope i helped!

it is beautiful here
we have everything you could ever want considering we are such a small country
everything except great weather of course
but everything else makes up for that
we have wonderful cities
beautiful countryside and beaches
steeped in history
and the people are VERY warm and friendly
you will have an amazing time here
once you know where you will be based then you can get the specifics of where you will be living, but nothing is ever very far away

Scotland is a country by itself that is apart of a bigger country called the united kingdom of great Britain and northern Ireland.it has some of the nicest places in UK. i went there once the people are very friendly and it is not crowed but weather is horrible and apart from pubs there is not much to do but there are nice natrual things to see .capital city is Edinburgh and largest city is glasgow.
hope you enjoy yourself there.

Scotland is like a lot of other places in that you will see a variety of landscapes and meet a variety of people.( some good some bad)

The two main cities are very different:
Edinburgh: is very popular with tourists and has a lot of history and things to see.
Glasgow:is arguably more modern with a thriving culture and industrial heritage.
Both are fascinating it their own way.

The highlands have vast tracts of untamed and beautiful scenery. Arguably the largest area of unspoilt scenery left in a crowded island. (Take waterproofs and midge repellent.)

( don't expect to see lots of people in kilts, we only wear them for the tourists)
