Good god - not one correct answer!!!

Great Britain is England, Scotland and Wales.

England is a country within that island known as Great Britain.

The United Kingdom, on the other hand is England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The Republic of Ireland has nothing to do with UK or Great Britain.

As far as accents are concerned - an English accent IS a British accent, as is Scottish or Welsh. Though you will also find a huge variety of regional differences in accent - scouse, geordie, glaswegian etc.

England is the country. Great Britain is another name for England. The name England derives itself from the Angles and Saxons, Germanic people who invaded about 1000 years ago. Before that the country was populated by the Britons who moved south and west after the settlement of the Angles and Saxons.

The United Kingdom is the union of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

There are many different accents in England and even more in the United Kingdom.
