G'day,

The north borders are with Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. On the East border with New Zealand. There are no immediate country neighbor on the West or South borders (unless you want to count the Antarctic, which is actually a continent).

Papua New Guinea is by far the closest. At the tip of cape york the Torres Strait Islanders travel easily by small boat to and from Australia and PNG. East Timor is next closest. Then Indonesia and New Zealand comes after that.

Papua New Guinea. I lived in Papua New Guinea for a while and people thought I was Australian b/c of the blonde hair! It is just a hop, skip and a jump away!

If you live in the Northern Territory I know it's cheaper to holiday in Bali, rather than anywhere else in Oz (airfare-wise) so how close is Bali to Darwin?
