Hey you guys! Even though I haven't traveled much I'm a travel freak and would love to know what it's like to live in different countries. So everyone: tell me what it's like in your country; anything and everything you can think of!

Hey, I'm going on a cruise in december and still have to book a night at a hotel in LA.
I don't really want to book a hotel in san pedro (where our port of call is) because I hear it is all industrial. I would like to stay somewhere nearby yet, with something fun to do in the meantime. Any ideas? Thanks.

So what is life like in Atlanta? I've visited there a lot so I know that the shopping is pretty good for the south but what is it like to live there? Especially in the Buckhead area. Is it slightly similar to New York? And is the nightlife good or boring and cheesy?

I know that District of Columbia is not a state, but does District of Columbia consist of just the city limits of Washington DC? Or are there other towns or villages in the District of Columbia?

And why is the District of Columbia not a state, and why is Washington DC not in a state? What is the benefit of doing this and do the people who live there get taxed alot under federal taxes?

I am going to college in Louisiana right now, and in 2 years I want 2 transfer to a college in NYC. Could someone please suggest decent areas places where rent is not so expensive. I know the least expensive apt. u can find is at least 1,000. However, I want to stay either in the city or 30 to 40 min out of the city. My main concern is having easy access to the city w/o having to pay so much! Keep in mind I am a college student , and money is pretty scarce. BTW my major is hospitality management and tourism and I plan on obtaining my bachelor's degree in this area. Any suggestion would be extremely helpful. Thanx!
